Person of Interest....Our current obsession.

Hello guys how have you all been? I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and new year. :) I did.
Anyway, I don't know how many of you remember but a while back I did a blog post on the Disney themed birthday party I went to, it was my friend Mabel's actually. And I've been at her house the past few days doing stuff together because it's holiday. :) And that has included watching 'Person of Interest' which we have both decided is awesome. I introduced it to Mabel and she likes a lot.

Hi everyone :)

So today we're talking about Person of interest which I think is probably my favourite tv show after Sherlock. And yeah, that's what we're doing. 
And yeah lots of spoilers btw. 

So far we've only watched 8 episodes, but they've been amazing!!! 

Two words. Jonathan. Nolan. Basically the guy who absolutely adores putting twists in everything. True story. :)

It's basically about a ex army/special forces guy, named John Reese (and he's supposed to be dead).



And his association with a guy by the name of Harold Finch. (Don't tell him I told you that he's a very private person. :P ) (And he's supposed to be dead too. 
So, Mr. Finch built a machine that would find potential terrorist attacks so that they could stop them before they happened. But it started picking up not only on terrorist attacks that would happen but also anyone involved or about to be involved in situations that would threaten someones life. Finch separated the names into two different lists. Relevant and irrelevant.


So the relevant list was only for potential terrorist attacks but the irrelevant list was for anyone involved in criminal intent, perpetrator or victim.


And the authorities don't do anything about the irrelevant list, in fact they don't even know that Finch still has access to it, but seeing as he built it he made himself a back door. And the irrelevant list haunts him, because he can't do anything about it by himself.

So Finch finds Reese and hires him (after freaking him out a bit). to save the people on the irrelevant list. Finch also helps Reese with info on people and hacks places for the information they need at the time


Anway, in the first episode just before Reese meets Finch he ends up at the police station in trouble for bashing up some guys who were being really rude and irritating :) And he's marked a duhduhlah! Person of Interest. :) 

Which sets Detective Carter on his trail. Now, Carter becomes totally obsessed with finding this vigilante (in a suit) who tends to interfere (help) with some of her cases. She's a by the books person too, but still a good character. 


Meanwhile Reese gets an inside man, Detective Lionel Fusco. Who Reese blackmailed into giving him info on police reports and anything else he can think of, and keeping an eye on Carter for him.
Lionel Fusco was a crooked cop, he worked for and with fellow crooked cops in drug dealing, lying in court, ect. he's weak and easily manipulated, although we believe that under it all he has a good heart (as he shows in episode 5) 

A new gang comes to town and nobody knows what the leader looks like, all they know is that his name is Elias. We do now! Mindblown! :D


Each episode there's new characters, which keeps it fresh, and interesting. :) 

Basically if you haven't watched this T.V. show your missing out on soooooooo much! I'm already starting to obsess over it and I've only watched eight episodes so far.

Yay, something for me to watch while I wait for Sherlock season 4!

What I owe BBC

BBC stands for 'British Broadcasting Company' and it's one of the most amazing companies ever, (because most companies are boring). But seriously I love the BBC, nothing can compare, with it's amazing (dare I use that phrase again?) Well, actually today I am only talking about the two that come to mind which I love and have seen more than once. :) Also, I can't think of a lot of other BBC adaptations I've seen all the way thorugh. :)

Pride and Prejudice (1995)

How can I describe this perfect beyond all perfect adaptation of my dear cousin's work, well, to tell the truth, I only just finished watching this, this afternoon, with most of my family, as Dad got home a little earlier from work, and Autumn wanted to watch it before she went back to college. It is one of the funnies movies ever!

THE LETTER!

When you are little, you don't understand what is so funny, but when you are older, from Mrs. Bennet's handkerchief waving, to hissing whenever you see Wicked Wickam, to grinning when Mr. Darcy smiles, to feeling supremely happy when they kiss at the end.

Ah, now that is what makes this the best adaptation, that ever was, or ever shall be. :)

Sherlock (2010-)
Sherlock is amazing! Period, exclamation mark. It is one of the best shows out there. It was my introduction to Sherlock Holmes, what introduced me to the detective and his best friend. The characters, the script, the storyline, the actors! Oh yes, and sooooo quotable, and it makes me laugh, and I love the charcters, even new ones like Mary, she's awesome! Everything is amazing! And yes, Benedict Cumberbatch is my new favourite actor. Problem? Good, I'm glad that's cleared up. :P

But besides being great adaptations of A.C. Doyle's work, they are also great episodes to watch without having read the books, oh and a fair amount better than the R.Downey jr. films as well. And Elementary, do not speak to me of it! This is to date, the only Sherlock Holmes movies/t.v. show I have seen all the way through, besides the Great Mouse Detective, which I love as well. :)

I love this, worst enemies, and they have tea while threatening. 

It will be interesting to see where the series will go, I'm hoping that season four will come out very soon, but I hope that they do not ruin it by making Moriarty come back.

So obviously as you can see, I owe BBC  a lot. Imagine what it would be like if BBC didn't exist! That would indeed be terrible!

Frozen: A review of sorts

So, I owe you all an apology. I said I would write this review a while back and well, here it is now, a few weeks later.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it anyhow! Also, this review has spoilers. :)
Note that do not thinik that the trailer reflects the movie at all, because it doesn't. In fact compared to tge movie it is not even very 'tolerable I suppose'. :)

So, to date I've seen Frozen three times. Wow! That's humongous, before seeing Frozen I only went and saw something at the movies once. Anyway, that's kind of relevant, but irrelevant. I'm actually a wee bit sick of Frozen now, because I've seen it so much in such a short amount of time. But that doesn't mean that the movie (if you don't watch it that much) is great. When I watched Frozen for the first time I was a bit of a basher of it, I admit. After all, people had said that it was better than Tangled. Wait, Tangled? It was better than Tangled? How'd that work? Because Tangled happens to be one of my favourite Disney movies ever. And no one can beat Flynn Rider.

I love this. :)

Anyway this review is going to be a little shorter than usual, mostly because I've been stressing about it and I'm now wanting to get rid of it as soon as possible. I know that sounds  a bit mean, but I feel l;ike I can't blog about anything else, until I've done this.
Anyways!

Frozen is an adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Snow Queen' now I don't know the storyline that well, but as usual, Disney added its customary flair of difference, but that's fine, I love Disney versions better than the original stories.

First off, the music is awesome! We have the entire soundtrack, and though I still love it, it is a step up from Tangled's music as well, besides the fact that it has so many more songs. My all time favourite is 'Love is an Open Door' it's very funny, and I love what Hans and Anna are doing while they sing it. Also, it reminded me of other classic Disney songs, like 'Be our Guest' because of all the different places and things going on.
Also, don't forget 'Let it go' and ummmm, well basically all the songs. Okay, even if you don't watch the movie, get the songs!

As for the characters, well, Sven was adorable I'm mean, totally adorable, I think having a pet Sven would be great, and at the finale when he grabs Kristoff and makes him understand that he NEEDS to go back to the castle. He's just a big sweety.

Olaf is a snowman who wants to see Summer. He also has the super-funny song 'In Summer' which I know off by heart. And he is so funny, too! 'Oh, look at that I've been impaled' and he really is a good character. My favourite bit with him is the 'Little been Unicorn' bit. And then when he lights the fire for Anna, and he starts melting, that's so nice. :)

Elsa is my favourite of the princesses, I don't know, maybe because her character is so interesting and that she sings 'Let it Go' also, don't you feel sorry for her, and I love her dress. And she just seems like such a complicated character, and it is great at the end to see how happy she is.

Anna is a great character, she's impulsive, she's funny, and she's a bit of a chatter-box. Also, we all love the 'hairbrush part' with Olaf. She always tries to do what is best but sometimes, she fails miserably.

Kristoff is the 'prince' although he sells 'ice for a living' and he is rather sweet, especially when he is getting Anna back to Hans. I was a bit disappointed that he didn't really sing a song (except for Reindeer's are Better than People) which is hysterical as he also does Sven's voice. But, I really would have liked it if he had sung a song with Anna, or something. I mean, Hans did, and he's not even a good guy.
Hans is the bad guy, it's a bit of a shocker because he seemed so nice, but then when you find out, you think 'Right, I hate you.' It was great at the end where Anna punches him, so funny! But I admit, I think I like him better than Kristoff. :) That is before you find out he is bad.

Anyway, if you have not yet seen Frozen I highly recommend it, it's Disney which means it's pretty amazing, I'd better go, as you can see, it is a very short review, but that's fine. :)

I have wanted to do another Movie Quote Quiz for ages. I just wasn't sure how to proceed. Anyway, I finally decided to do another one. If people like it that much maybe I'll make it a monthly thing. Also, in previous times I made an award for the winner and award for the participator. That will no longer be happening. This is just for fun, after all! :D

'Well, surprise me.' 'I'm certainly endeavouring to, Sir.'

Spoilers ahead, for all those who do not want to ruin the surprise. I wouldn't advise reading further unless you've seen it.
Okay, well last night I saw the first episode of Sherlock Season 3: The Empty Hearse.
It was awesome! I really enjoyed it. There were so many laugh-out loud moments. Dad, Mum, Eden, Saxon and I were invariably chuckling and laughing. I'm not quite so sure about Autumn. Thank you so much, though for finding it on-line, Autty! You're awesome. :D

Now, the mystery wasn't much of a mystery, it was more like 'A Study in Pink' where there are introductions and that sort of stuff. I didn't think that much of Mary when you first meet her, but she grew on me. And I really like her.
Lestrade's reaction was great, and more what I thought there would be in John's reaction.
Oh, and Sherlock drives a motor-bike.
There were some really funny Mycroft and Sherlock moments which were really funny. The way he survived his fall? Well, everyone thought it was a bit more elaborate but it was actually really simple, and we all feel a bit stupid, I shouldn't wonder. :P

This bit. *starts laughing*

The part in the train where Sherlock couldn't work out what to do, well, I thought he actually couldn't. But then he's Sherlock Holmes, of course he knew! 'There's an off-switch, there's always an off-switch.'
'Killing me, oh please, that's so two years ago.'
Molly was a bit more main, I think the relationship between her in Sherlock is better in this season. Almost big brother, little sister.
John's mustache. Now, what all the fans agreed was that John's mustache was not adding to his looks. It was a total surprise that Mary didn't like it, and neither did Sherlock. 'Let me just ask you one question..you're not going to keep that are you?'
The reunion between Sherlock and his best friend was hysterical, we were laughing all the way through it, also the fact that John is really, really mad and tries to throttle Sherlock in three different cafes.
I picked up a few references from the original stories, which I was rather proud of, I didn't pick up half of them, as some were more subtle.
So....I'm guessing that the person watching the screen at the end of the episode is Charles Augustus Milverton.
So, to end this post, I can't wait to watch episode two, and it was a great start to the third season! :D

The New Heroes I found in 2013

So seeing as it is only a about one hour and ten mintues until 2014 (gee, we're all getting so old!) I thought I'd do one of those '2013' posts. And so this post is about heroes who I discovered this year.

Sir Luca Forelli-from the River of Time series, by Lisa T. Bergren. Now, if you read the first three books. i.e. Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent chances are that you won't get to hear that much about Luca, he's usually in the background adding a humorous quip in the background. He's got green eyes and he's blonde and as we all know Vellvin has this thing for blonde guys. No idea why. :) Luca is committed, kind and determined. He's captain of the Forelli guard and is very stern when it comes to his duty. He's a bit of a flirt but that's only to the one girl that he really, really likes. And his patient, it's quite obvious that he really likes her, but he waits patiently to see what she thinks about him. He's a fun-loving passionate guy. And he's pretty amazing with a sword. Before reading the two novellas I liked Marcello better than Luca, now I think it's the other way around.

Sherlock Holmes- I discovered Sherlock Holmes only the start of this year when watching the BBC T.V. show Sherlock. After watching that I quickly read 'A Study in Scarlet' 'The Sign of the Four' 'The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' 'The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes' and I am almost finished 'The Return of Sherlock Holmes'. It's safe to say that I'm a Sherlockian I think. Do not speak to me of the Robert Downey Jr. Sherlock Holmes movies, we turned the first movie off within the first forty-five minutes, and don't speak to me about that rip-off off a T.V. show called Elementary either. Sherlock Holmes has two characters for me. The gentleman of the original stories, and the sometimes uncaring sociopath of the BBC T.V. show who actually is not a 'high functioning sociopath'. as he so heated;y points out to Anderson. This Sherlock Holmes would be horrible to be around in real life, but I like him anyway. Plus, he has a really cool trench coat and scarf and who can argue with his marvelous deductions?

Percy Jackson-I read all of the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus books this year. Except for House of Hades, which I was rather disgusted with after a certain thing happened in the book. Anyway, Percy's a really nice guy. He's smart, independent, and rather good with a sword. We see him mature from a twelve-year-old boy to a seventeen-year-old young man. He's usually the person with the funny lines, which are usually pointed insulting at people he doesn't like. Like Hera for instance. He is extremely loyal to his friends and his resourceful no matter what. He can control water and summon a hurricane, and just so everyone knows, he's better than Jason.

Batman/Bruce Wayne- Okay, so this year I finally saw the Christopher Nolan, Batman movies. True, these movies aren't made by Marvel, but that doesn't mean that they are any less great than some of the Marvel movies. They are also, (in my opinion) more dark and yes, pun intended as they are known as the Dark Knight Trilogy. When we first meet Bruce he's a little eight-year-old boy who's fallen down a hole to a cave where bats live. And he hates them. Next day, boom his parents get shot, fun, fun. We fast forward a little bit and he's a stupid irresponsible young man who no thought really, of what to do with his life. Then he starts to travel the world, to find a way to fight injustice, is trained by Ra's A Guhl but does not think that they're methods are right. Killing for killing and such. And he says that this is what draws the line between good and bad, and I've got to agree with him. He's a smart, smooth guy. With some nice Lamborghinis if I might add, but he sacrifices a lot in him being Batman.

And the fact that he got a happily ever after, starting a new life with Selina, getting married was great. Because he deserved it.

Connor-from Assassin's Creed 3. Okay, this guy is the only guy who I've put on here who is from a video game. I get attached to some strange characters but I actually spent quite a while just watching Saxon playing as Connor. I haven't even played all of his story. Most of what I've done with him is pick peoples pockets and get into fights. I don't usually do any of the missions. Just that sort of stuff. And I mean, Connor he's pretty cool, he gets to wear Assassin clothes, have cool weapons, and he's an Indian, so what's not to like?

And there you have it, everyone! My heroes of 2013. Amazing guys one and all! :D

I went to a walk for True Marriage!

So last week I went to a Walk for True Marriage. And it was amazing! I felt so glad inside, so pleased that I was actually doing something other than talking about how marriage is between a man and a woman. Anyway, I should probably start from the beginning.
I had been rather worried that we wouldn't get to the walk because Mum and Dad have been away since Thursday afternoon through to late tonight. They went down to Kynan's Graduation (congrats bro!) and are now driving up to Sydney to pick up Autumn. Braedon and Anna-Lisa have been staying and looking after us, and so I wasn't sure that we would be going. I am so glad I was wrong. We got there in plenty of time and it was amazing like I said. There were so many people there! Some who I knew, some who I didn't. But that didn't matter, because we all had the same intent, to walk down main street, carrying signs and showing the world that, no matter what, marriage is between one man and one woman, and always will be. Boys had been asked to wear blue, and girls pink, so obviously I was wearing pink. :)

Before we left to Fr. Brad said a few things and reminded us that we are on a peaceful walk and that if anyone shouted at us or had a sign the opposite of ours, to return their abuse with a smile. :) We also had sung the words 'We are walking for True Marriage' to the tune of 'We have decided to follow Jesus.' A lot of us got given signs, I wanted one. :) And I got one. Mine said 'Children's Rights Come First'. And I carried it proudly.
Now, we started off at Bolton Park, walked up the street to past a man who was holding up a sign the opposite of ours. I can't really remember what it said but yeah, we kept on walking and kept on singing. We turned right and then started down main street, crossing the road and singing all the time. I'll tell you, by the time we got to the Victory Gardens, which were down the other end of Main Street, and our destination, my throat was extremely parched from continuous singing. We continued down main street, we passed both of the big malls. People looked at us. Some took photos and some were filming us. There was one woman who shouted something at us, but we ignored her. A lot of people noticed us especially at the malls, which were both on the same side, and only about a block from each other. The feeling of people watching us made me feel great. People were noticing! Perhaps they were reconsidering what they thought was marriage, perhaps they were getting a wake-up call. After all, that was partly why we were marching. There was another group of people who were dressed all in black and had another sign, they actually followed us all the way to the park and sat through one of the speeches.

We got to the park, had a barbecue lunch and sat to listen to some people who were going to do some talking on marriage. Did I mention that we were sitting out in the hot sun? Fun, fun.
Anyway, the speeches were very good, one of them was done by the Bishop. And I suppose I shall end this post, as I am getting rather tired of it, and say.

Marriage is between One Man and One Woman. Always and forever.

What I hope to see in Season 3 of Sherlock.

Now, what you all may or may not know is that BBC's Sherlock is my absolute favourite T.V. series of all time! After that comes Hogan's Heroes and Little House on the Prairie.
Sherlock introduced me to the character and stories. True, I had watched The Great Mouse Detective years ago and I still do now and then but I never really registered that Basil was SUPPOSE to be Sherlock Holmes! I sort of got the reference but I knew next to nothing about Sherlock Holmes.
Early this year we got the first season of Sherlock out from the library and suffice to say that we were hooked!
I started reading the Sherlock Holmes books starting with 'A Study in Scarlet' then 'The Sign of the Four', 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' 'The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes' and I have almost finished 'The Return of Sherlock Holmes'.
So if it wasn't obvious, I'd say that I am very dedicated to Sherlock Holmes and may take the title of Sherlockian. A rather nice one, too.

Exciting!

The other day I asked Jamie who blogs over at Throughtwoblueyes if she was going to be doing any new Sherlock Holmes posts and I suggested that she might do what she wants to see in Sherlock Season 3. Arda had asked me this a few weeks ago and that thought sprung to mind at that time. I also said that I'd probably do was as well, and so here I am.
Summary for Season 3:
Our multi-award-winning drama Sherlock‬ starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, returns for an eagerly awaited third series of three, 90-minute films this Christmas.
In episode one of this new series, two years after the devastating effects of The Reichenbach Fall, Dr John Watson has got on with his life. New horizons, romance and a comforting domestic future beckon. But, with London under threat of a huge terrorist attack, Sherlock Holmes is about to rise from the grave with all the theatricality that comes so naturally to him. It’s what his best friend wanted more than anything, but for John Watson it might well be a case of ‘be careful what you wish for’!

So the first question that all Sherlock fans want to know is 'How on earth did Sherlock survive?!' I mean how do you survive a drop from a hospital building and later on you are just watching your best friend pouring out his heart at your grave and then it ends! And apparently Season 3 is going to have an even worse cliff-hanger. Note to self: Read His Last Bow before Season 3.
So, besides the obvious that we all want to see how he did it. What other things do I want to see?

Do you think John is ignoring Sherlock here?

1. What is  John's reaction to Sherlock 'coming back'? Apparently John of the T.V. show is not as forgiving as Watson of the stories. Could prove to be very interesting to see.
2. Okay. Now, something I really want to see is Donavan's and Anderson's reactions to Sherlock coming back. And Lestrade will probably be rubbing it in and saying like' Oh, yeah, I told you so!' It would be awesome if Sherlock just sort of walked into Scotland Yard and Lestrade knew already that he was not a kidnapper or anything like that and Donavan and Anderson are trying to arrest him and Lestrade walks in and says something along the lines of 'he didn't do any of that.'

Is it just me or does Mary look a little loopy?

3. John Watson getting married to Mary Morstan. Now, this should prove to be very interesting! John getting married, and with a moustache, too! I am going to assume that they get married in episode two, The Sign of Three. I don't know how they are going to meet maybe because Mary came to get Sherlock's help like she does in the book, or maybe Mary and John meet each other before Sherlock comes back and suddenly she needs both of their help? I have no idea but I hope that Sherlock is the best man.
4. Seeing some more of Molly. Molly is by far one of my favourite characters. And it looks quite obvious that she helped Sherlock fake his death. Sherlock and Molly are supposed to be doing some more stuff together (non-romantic however much all of us who ship Sherlock and Molly want otherwise) and also it has been said that she will tell Sherlock off. Goody! That will not be something to miss at all.
5. Picking up on all the references from the novels. After having read the first two novels/stories and the Adventures and Memoirs I picked up on a few of them, and also my Sherlock Files actually tells you where all the references are from.
6. Basically enjoying another season of Sherlock and being part of the waiting, from the start for the fourth season instead of discovering it about ten months before it is released, which is what happened to me last time.

Oh, and just wondering, but has anyone seen Sherlock's new scarf?

l-to-r. S 1. S2. S3. Arda suggested that it might be a very bright blue because he is getting a bit happier. That sound like a nice idea! :)

And the new trailer which I have not seen yet. Hopefully will today though. :)
So, there you have it! That is what I want to see in Sherlock Season 3 and I can't wait.
Now, all to do is find somewhere on the internet to watch it from, as we don't have T.V. connection and find out the release for Season 3 in Australia.
