On Love...

...let the little children come unto Me.♥

Sometimes I find it depressing going out to town to shop and things. It might sound strange but I do.
Why do I though? Why would I? Because I look at people while I'm out.

An old couple taking their grandchildren shopping because there parents are working or too busy to look after them. A person who looks like the world is going to end or like they don't have a purpose in life.
Just the other day when I was out shopping a young family was shopping for clothes in K-Mart. They were a sad family. Not because they themselves seemed down in the dumps, exactly. But because they didn't seem to actually BE happy. The mother swore at one of her children and then said to that child they weren't having lunch and she then proceeded to tell her husband that she was done and she just wanted to go. The children were tired. The little boy was hungry. Sure sometimes kids are naughty in shops. But this is usually because they are hungry or tired or just plain bored.
I felt emotionally sorry for the children and for the parents.
A little while later we went to a different part of the shop and from there you are very near the check-out. This same family was at the check-out and the little boy was hanging off the side of it. I think he was still saying he was hungry. They paid for their things and left. A little while later a little boy in K-Mart was calling for his Dad who he had seemed to have lost in the shop. A K-Mart person was noted and I hope they found his father for him.

These two most encounters made me so sad. I forgot about it but then was reminded of them again, later when we were at Aldi's. There was a mother and her twelve or so year old boys. She was looking at something and one of the boys was trying to touch whatever she had. She told them in an irritated voice to stop that. However, when one of the boys said. "We're just trying to help." Her reply was "I know but you aren't really." It was the way she said it!!! She said it with gentleness and kindness. How a mother SHOULD talk to her children. I had been rather unhappy earlier hearing the other family in K-Mart but this exchange lifted my spirits a lot. Can you guess what the difference was?

It was love. Love is the most powerful and wonderful thing in the universe. Maybe that first mother hadn't been shown any love or proper substantial kindness in her life, maybe she was only doing as she had been taught growing up. If so it was a very poor upbringing.

Food for thought.
In today's society we will find many people who are selfish or are very-short tempered. Even to their own children. This is NOT how children should be treated. I don't know about you, but I've always wanted to adopt all of the unloved children in the world. It might sound like a totally absurd and strange thing to think but the truth is that a lot of people aren't loved at all in their lives. And that is a tragedy. Children deserve love and kindness. If they don't have them growing up, they won't be able to show this as adults.

So to all those people who look after children, who talk to the children with love. I thank you. Love is a free gift yet for some, it's seem like the most expensive and hard to give gift in the world. NEVER FORGET TO LOVE!!!

What I listen to......

I've always been a big fan of listening to things. Audio-books, music, anything really.
Since getting an I-Pod Touch for my birthday which I named Mr Reese (Person of Interest) and the case that I have for it is Sherlock, I've been enjoying being able to listen to a lot of stuff, without having to ask Mum if I could use her I-Pod.
One of the coolest things about having my own I-Pod is that I can get podcasts! It's really exciting. And one of the stations I've been listening to a fair bit this past six months or so, is a Catholic Radio Station called 'Catholic Answers Live'
This was first found by my brother Saxon who began to download some of them and I started to listen to them.
Catholic Answers is an amazing radio show with an awesome website which I have not really looked at that much, but has thousands of articles on varying issues. Their talks are excellent and top notch and they broadcast every day except Sunday which is awesome. I love checking my I-Pod in the morning to see what interesting Podcasts have been added. :D
Their slogan is to 'Defend and explain the Faith'.
They do many different broadcasts. The thing is though, that they have different people from different backgrounds ring them up and ask questions they are always respectful and kind and try to do their best to help the caller. I've learnt a lot from listening to them. I've enjoyed learning more about my faith, and also to be more respectful towards people of different religious backgrounds. Yes, I'm proud to be Catholic, but that means that sometimes I'm a little full of myself and can be rather judgmental of other people. It's a very big failing of mine. :(
Some of the podcasts I skip and some I listen to. It really depends on what I'm interested in listening to. Some of my favourites are the Street Evangelisation broadcasts as they are really interesting.
I even have favourite apologists. Tim Staples is a definite favourite as is Brant Pitre. Trent Horn is becoming a favourite, too. At least some of his :)
Catholic Answers' radio has been going for as long as I've been on this good earth. They've done an excellent job of facing various issues with both compassion, respectfulness, and the solid truths of the Catholic Faith.
I think that a lot of the time people who aren't Catholic hear a lot of misconceptions about Catholics. That's why Catholic Answers is such a great website, it's there for anyone. Catholic, Protestant and non-Christains alike. If you ever had any query about the Catholic Faith I would most strongly advise you to pop over to the website and type in what you are confused about. They have anything and everything on there.
Catholic Answers makes me proud to be a Catholic though in a proud glad kind of way, I love listening to people who actually know what they are talking about and who know that really the Catholic Church is an amazing thing. So pop on over to their website. You have no idea what you'll be missing out on! :D
Thanks be to God for Catholic Answers!

To let you know....

Hello everyone! How are you all? I am much better than I was on Monday. Guess what! I can walk!! :D :D The CT scan showed that I had no broken bones. *clap clap clap* My bruises and grazes are healing nicely, which is a relief and I've been able to do some of the stuff which I couldn't do while being lounge-bound. :) Thank you so much for all of your prayers. I really, really appreciated every single one of them! :) I'm sorry that I didn't update you all sooner, but I've been really busy and yesterday I spent a majority of time cooking. :) I made pound cake which was great! :) And strawberry cheescake and yeah, it was just really good. Thank you for praying for me! :)

In which I tell the story of my accident.........

Hello everyone. How are you all? I'm pretty well besides living on the lounge most of the time. :)
You may ask why I am spending most of my time on the lounge. Truthfully, I wish I wasn't. But I suppose I'd better start from the beginning:

I've been lounge-bound since Sunday of last week. This was because I had a panic attack on the way to mass and jumped out of the car. Thankfully the car had only just started up again, and even though my foot went under one of the wheels, I am pretty okay. Even so, that Sunday was really, really, difficult. I felt emotionally shattered. I had grazes on my upper legs, knees, feet, one on my side and two on my lower back. Goody. NOT!!!!
The pain for the first few days was quite a lot. Today I"m feeling much better. I'm just annoyed that I can't go around doing stuff, like I normally do.
On Monday I went to see the Doctor and he said that everything should be fine, beyond some bruising and a bit of pain. The nurses bandaged me up and we went home.

On Tuesday I went to see our family Doctor and she said that I would need to get X-rays just to be sure. So that meant having to go to another place, wait around for half and hour or so, and then get x-rays which were extremely uncomfortable because I needed to move this way, or that, and my knees were quite sore still, even though they were bandaged. Anyway, after that Mum and I went home.
By Thursday which was when I was going to see our family doctor again, I was actually walking around the house doing stuff, although I still was getting tired more easily. But guess what!!! The Doctor told Mum that the x-rays hadn't been clear on my left foot, and they weren't sure if I had a broken bone in my foot! I know it wasn't the Doctor's fault but it was still irritating. :( Which meant that I needed to have crutches until I could go for a CT scan. Which is today. I"m hoping that there is no broken bone.

I've been on the lounge most of the time since Sunday of last week and I've gotta say, that it is losing it's charm. I've done quite a bit of reading, but just sitting and reading all day has gotten rather dull. I know, that sounds so weird! Me, being bored of reading?! Never! It's more the inability to do anything else. So yeah. There was one book that I started on Friday and finished on Saturday, which I was very proud of.

It was called the Crystal Snowstorm and it is one of a series! :D I really enjoyed it! And then Anna-Lisa  and Balian came over on Saturday night and I got to hold Balian for a bit, even though he was crying, and that was nice. She also brought chocolate, which is always a plus. :) And we watched the Maze Runner which was really good, if somewhat confusing. Hopefully I'll be able to write about it in a few days. :)

So to end this post: Being lounge-bound is irritating but it does have it's perks. My CT scan is this afternoon and I"m really worried that I'll have a broken bone. I'd really appreciate any prayers that it is not so. Because I just don't want to spend anymore time on a lounge then I need to. And I'm also seeing a nurse this afternoon to look at my grazes. I'm not really worried about that as Mum knows what she's doing when it comes to that. She really is a great Doctor.
Jesus I trust in you.
So yeah, if you guys could pray for me, and for a good outcome, that would be awesome. :) I'm also sorry if this post rambles a bit but I'm sort of just getting the facts out. :)

Prayer Warriors Please!

I really need all the prayers you can possibly offer for my sister. She is making some horrible mistakes I don't know how much I can tell you. Only that I urgently need all the prayers you can give.
Our whole family is upset and just can't understand how this is happening (again).
Please, just pray!

At this time I've just woken up, and it is Easter morning, and finally I can say the forbidden word! Alleluia! Christos Anesti! Christ is Risen! Let us Rejoice and be glad! I hope you all have a most blessed Easter. And let us never forget the true meaning of this most special day!
And yes, this post is scheduled, can't you tell? :P

My dream came true!

Well, it seems that whatever we want, no matter how hard we want it always takes time. Time, which I myself, hate waiting for. I'm not one who likes to wait, so how long has it been since the eldest of my siblings could have gotten married? About six-seven years actually, so yeah. You'd think if you didn't know me, that I'm some old person who is using a walking stick to get around, the way I'm writing this post, so I'd just better go on and tell you: (Caps lock on. :) )

BRAEDON AND ANNA-LISA ARE EXPECTING A BABY! WOOT!!

So finally I'm going to be an Aunty! And I can't wait! The baby is due about October 17th, ten days before Braedon's birthday.
And so the wait begins, and no, I have no idea if it's a girl or a boy, but that's fine as long as I finally get my wish! Please, if you could offer up a prayer for a safe pregnancy and delivery, that'd be awesome, adn please, just keep Anna-Lisa, Braedon and their precious baby in your prayers.
Ciao!

Recently..

Things have been really busy around here recently. I've actually found it a bit hard to post and so here I am finally trying to post something before I need to do something. NOTE: This may go as far back as a month as I haven't done an update post in a while
What I've been doing:
I don't know how long this picture has been around, I love it anyway. :)
Reading.....The Bracken Trilogy, I've almost finished book one, a friend lent it to me and I think that they are pretty good! :D I finished 'All Fall Down' the other day, it did take me a while though, and I actually wasn't that impressed with it. :P Which is a bit irritating. I also finished At Aboukir and Acre by G. A. Henty I love it how in all of the books the hero ends up marrying and it just has such a 'happily ever after' feeling to it. :)

Watching....Arrow!

Arrow is amazing it is awesome! It is wonderful. I'm working on a post for it. I love Oliver, Diggle, Felicity and Laurel. :) we've now finished Season 1 and I think it was great. I wouldn't recommend it to younger people though.

And Hogan's Heroes, I mean seriously whenever Carter dresses up as Hitler it's a barrel full of laughs. :)
Well, me and Mum weren't like this. But I can be at this stage pretty often.
Laughing at....things Saxon says, Horrible Histories and things from Family Ties and oldish T.V. show from the 70's. Not quite little kid appropriate but Mum and I were laughing through it and I really enjoyed it. I don't think I've laughed so hard in anything for ages.

Taking quizzes....Sometimes I go through this whole stage of taking quizzes and beieve me, they are very addicting. Some of the results I wasn't that happy with

Like Mrs. Hudson
But if you read the why, then yes, it's very much like me. :)
Others I was really happy with. :) Like these two:
Princess Bride

Arrow
So yes, very happy with these two. They actually have a few really good quizzes. Here is the link: http://www.zimbio.com/quiz

Like this one. A bit of a challenge, no actually quite a challenge ;)
Planning....to try some new hairstyles. I've actually got quite a few open currently and I'd like to try some LOTR ones as well. To make some new skirts, to enjoy Autumn!

Working on...Reading books (duh) Lenten things, being outside when it is windy.

Asking for... Prayers for Rogan and Eden. The past week was actually really tense and they both really need some prayers, if you would be so kind. :)

Anyway I'd better go. I hope to be able to post more frequently but it's just getting around to it, and also feeling the mood.
Adios amigos!

Answering a question......

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't posted, first off I hope everyone had a happy and holy Christmas!
I stole this picture from Una Mariah's blog. Petticoats and Muckboots. Only a few more days till season 3!
The reason for not posting? Well, first being really busy, then catching a stomach bug on the day before Christmas Eve (no pressure of course. :P ) and then recovering, going to midnight Latin Mass which, though I am sure was very beautiful I was pretty tired off after a while not to mention though there were fans on I was hot and very tired as I hadn't got hardly any sleep before we had to get ready. Then after we got home, we had our Christmas photo, I was a bit grouchy and still feeling really tired and still recovering from the bug. We had our Midnight feast, put our bags out and then I tried to get to sleep. At 3 o'clock in the morning, and I didn't sleep well. After being sick I confess the only reason I haven't blogged is because I've been enjoying being lazy, and slowing down. But I DID see the Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug yesterday and I WILL be working on a post about what I thought of it. Suffice to say for the moment I am proud of my title of 'Vellvin da Elven' after seeing it. I feel so cool. :D

NOTE: I would not recommend people under the age of fifteen reading this unless it had been pre-read by someone who you trust (like a parent) for instance. I just like to add this to any post which deals with any of these issues as it's better safe than sorry. And I do not mean to offend anyone, if you don't want to read it, then don't. But it is my site, and it is my right, too.

On to the meat of the matter. I had this huge (and I mean huge) blog post and it was suppose to be a broken up into sections. Abortion, Homosexuality, Euthanasia, Contraception, Un-married couples living with each other and possibly divorce. But I have decided instead that I wanted to post one of the sections that I have completed. That being the Homosexuality section.

Now, do you all remember my blog post on going to the walk for True Marriage? Well, I got this really weird comment from an anonymous person called 'D' great name by the way. :P And this is what it said:

Hey there. I'm a 14-year-old girl who just came across your blog. I'm also openly gay, and reading this post made me interested in hearing just why you hold these views about me and my people. Keep in mind that I'm not trying to be confrontational at all, I just really want to have a conversation with someone who thinks like you do. Have you ever thought about *why* gay people are supposedly wrong? Like, what is it about loving the same gender that is so horrible and disgusting? You say that you're against same-gender marriage. Do you think a gay person like me should just never find commitment, or do you just think we should never find love at all? I'm also interested in hearing what you would do if a close friend or relative of yours came out as gay, bi or transgender. Would you reject them, or...? It just honestly confuses me how someone my own age, or really, anyone, could hold these views. I don't think anyone is naturally inclined to despise gay people, I believe homophobia is a

That's what it said and I was very ready to write an answer back but instead I've added it into this blog post seeing as this is what I am writing about. Also, this was from an anonymous commenter whom I'd never heard of before, who knew nothing about me, and wasn't even necessarily a fourteen-year-old girl, and if so, it looks like she's been brainwashed. And maybe, if 'D' is reading this, she may get an insight of why it is wrong, and what it is that such ludicrous ideas do to people.

Homosexuality. Okay, so a few years back, I found out that people of the same gender thought they could marry each other! I didn't think that much of the matter until probably this year, where this thing, that people like to call 'gay marriage' even though it is clearly not marriage and its proper disgusting-throwing-up-worthy-term is actually Homosexuality. Yep, that's its actual term, and don't sugar-coat its name, because its not marriage. Marriage is between a Man and a Woman. You can be best friends with another girl or guy, you can still be friends with people of the same gender. You can still love them with a brotherly or sisterly love. But you cannot MARRY THEM!!! Or think you can! You cannot have the same love as a husband and wife share.
St. Joseph.
See this guy here. His name is St. Joseph. He was the foster father of Jesus, and head of the Holy Family. He is also patron of families. And you know what. Homosexuality is like, the destroyer of families. It's wrong, its immoral, and its just plain stupid. What morons people are if they think that they can do something like that! And no, its not a trend, so don't go saying 'it's the latest trend' either. And don't refer to honest-to-goodness-marriage as 'traditional marriage' either, as that makes you sound like you think that Homosexuality IS marriage, whereas it is not. Marriage is between a Man and a Woman. And that ain't ever gonna change. I was thinking the other day about The Princess Bride and about the old King who says 'won't that be nice' when Buttercup kisses him and then tells him how she is going to kill herself. WE CAN'T ACT LIKE THAT! We can't be all 'Oh it'll be alright, it's their life after all.' Because these are like the sheep without a shepherd. We can't be indifferent, we can't just stand by and let things like that happen! Because then we are no better than they are. We are accepting that it is okay, then. Because we have not stood up and told the world what we think. Okay, world, so wanna tell you something
True story. You will never ever change this!

And it's the truth.
The people I know, I see the great examples and the example that my Mother and Father have given me all the days of my life, a true marriage is one where you help each other, give counsel to each other, and love each other. It's not perfect, (most certainly not) but it IS marriage. And funny story, that's because their is a father and a mother. :)
Portrait: 12.12.2013 AUSTRALIA HIGH COURT, NO to same sex 'marriage'

Our constitution today protected motherhood, childhood and family.
Our marriage laws are equal and not discriminatory;
because it applies equally to gay and heterosexual people,

Australia Supporting Traditional Marriage
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oy! Oy! Oy!
My Mum and Dad have been married for more than twenty-five years (awesome right? :) ) and Mum wrote a blog post on it as well if you are interested. http://cherishedheartsathome.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/what-is-marriage.html And that's what marriage is. And also, if you have parent number one and parent number two not a Mum and a Dad, how can you create new life? The answer is, you can't. And then having children which is one of the things that a husband and wife have to be opened to before they are married when they are preparing marriage is that this is one of the most important rules of marriage. Openness to children. It is actually a requirement and if you say no (at least in the Catholic Church) you can't get married and it's not marriage then. So, therefore, don't go calling it 'gay marriage' because it lacks the depth, the truth, and the meaning of what real marriage is.  Also you can't create a human life. And if you adopt a child, what if it is a boy and he has two Mums how he is suppose to learn how to be a man? He can't that's the answer, and vice versa, this affect CHILDREN more than anything else, this selfish, stupid, immoral idea. So stop being selfish, think about what if it was you, and please, realise that it is wrong.

Ever time I listen to this song, I cry. This is what TRUE COMMITMENT IS!
So who's in for telling the world what we think? Because every little bit helps, prayer the most out of anything, though we might not see that as doing very much.

St. Joseph patron of families, protector of the Church, Pray for us! Lord Jesus, watch over us, help us to be peacemakers, and to love our neighbours always. No matter what they believe!

I went to a walk for True Marriage!

So last week I went to a Walk for True Marriage. And it was amazing! I felt so glad inside, so pleased that I was actually doing something other than talking about how marriage is between a man and a woman. Anyway, I should probably start from the beginning.
I had been rather worried that we wouldn't get to the walk because Mum and Dad have been away since Thursday afternoon through to late tonight. They went down to Kynan's Graduation (congrats bro!) and are now driving up to Sydney to pick up Autumn. Braedon and Anna-Lisa have been staying and looking after us, and so I wasn't sure that we would be going. I am so glad I was wrong. We got there in plenty of time and it was amazing like I said. There were so many people there! Some who I knew, some who I didn't. But that didn't matter, because we all had the same intent, to walk down main street, carrying signs and showing the world that, no matter what, marriage is between one man and one woman, and always will be. Boys had been asked to wear blue, and girls pink, so obviously I was wearing pink. :)

Before we left to Fr. Brad said a few things and reminded us that we are on a peaceful walk and that if anyone shouted at us or had a sign the opposite of ours, to return their abuse with a smile. :) We also had sung the words 'We are walking for True Marriage' to the tune of 'We have decided to follow Jesus.' A lot of us got given signs, I wanted one. :) And I got one. Mine said 'Children's Rights Come First'. And I carried it proudly.
Now, we started off at Bolton Park, walked up the street to past a man who was holding up a sign the opposite of ours. I can't really remember what it said but yeah, we kept on walking and kept on singing. We turned right and then started down main street, crossing the road and singing all the time. I'll tell you, by the time we got to the Victory Gardens, which were down the other end of Main Street, and our destination, my throat was extremely parched from continuous singing. We continued down main street, we passed both of the big malls. People looked at us. Some took photos and some were filming us. There was one woman who shouted something at us, but we ignored her. A lot of people noticed us especially at the malls, which were both on the same side, and only about a block from each other. The feeling of people watching us made me feel great. People were noticing! Perhaps they were reconsidering what they thought was marriage, perhaps they were getting a wake-up call. After all, that was partly why we were marching. There was another group of people who were dressed all in black and had another sign, they actually followed us all the way to the park and sat through one of the speeches.

We got to the park, had a barbecue lunch and sat to listen to some people who were going to do some talking on marriage. Did I mention that we were sitting out in the hot sun? Fun, fun.
Anyway, the speeches were very good, one of them was done by the Bishop. And I suppose I shall end this post, as I am getting rather tired of it, and say.

Marriage is between One Man and One Woman. Always and forever.

I thought it would be different...

Well not 'my' baby.
I thought it would be different. Yes, I did. I didn't expect that after going with Mum to the ultrasound that I would find out something which would make me cry harder and for more reason than I had in a very long time.

I now have two siblings in heaven. My Mum now has had two miscarriages, one being twenty-one years ago, and one this very month. R.I.P. my littler brother or sister who I never got to meet, I miss you though I never got to see your smiling face, or hear your sweet baby coos. I hope you are enjoying heaven, being with Jesus. And I'll miss you, ever day. You were going to be our sweet baby to cuddle and love and protect from all that is wrong with this world. I remember saying 'Good Morning' to you while you were in Mummy's tummy.

I cried while coming home. I missed you. I love you. I am crying now, thinking of you.
And I find it hard. So very hard. We had been praying and hoping for so long. For you, the precious blessing that God gave us for only a little while. But in that while, we came to love and know you.
I wasn't going to be the eldest sibling to six siblings but to seven. I was hoping to be your Godmother. I was so very excited.
I hope you and the other baby who went to heaven (I think he was a brother and his name was Gideon), that you'll pray for the rest of us, here on earth. That we get to heaven. I want us all to be together, in eternal happiness, us together. Our entire family.
I love and you miss you, sweet baby. One day I'll meet you in heaven, though it won't be the same. At least I know that one day I'll be able to find you.
Vellvin Faine Catherine Agnes Onions. Big sister to seven. One in heaven. Younger sister to six. One in heaven. Godmother to one.

Our dear little blessing has gone to be with Jesus in heaven. We found out today as Mum went for an ultrasound and I went with Mum. I find it hard to understand why God even gave us this little blessing and then took the baby to him in heaven. I know there is a reason, and that it is for the best, but I still wish I'd had the baby to cuddle and to love. If I could just as you all to prayer for us. Especially Mummy, she was very, very, upset and it is not often that she cries, either. But she did today.

This and That

So as you know Mum has not been well these past few days. Friday saw her and Dad going to the Doctor's for her to have a check-up as she was experiencing stomach pains and other symptoms which were very worrying. Please if you have not already done so, offer up as prayer for her and the new baby. We are all so very worried and anxious. We have been praying but being patient is hard. And if you have already said a prayer, then please, continue to do so.

I have been reading the 'River of Time series' which I highly recommend. Like seriously, these books are amazing. I've got a blog post in my drafts for when I finish Torrent and Bourne and Tributary. And seriously Marcello looks kind of like a goof if that is him on the front of Torrent. Tributary on the other hand. *sighs* seriously

Luca Forelli just looks awesome. :) I actually think this is one book series where I actually like the main guy more than the secondary guys. Surprise, surprise! I was expecting to like Luca the most but as it turned out Marcello comes first. Also Rodolfo Greco is such a complicated character and yes, I think he is great as well. And poor Fortion and I hate the Rossis. Anyway, if you haven't read these books, then you really, really need to!

It's six days until my birthday and I am getting very excited! Six more days and tomorrow five then, yeah you get the idea. It is getting really annoying with everyone posting Thor: The Dark World blog posts as I'm not looking at them as I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully on my birthday that will change. :)

Hellooooooo, have a look around. :P
So yeah, I'd better go. Please, if you could all just continue to pray for Mum and the baby, that would be awesome. :)
