This is a long list. These are the guys who I adore, love and think are really nice.
Some guys are new, some I have had for ages, and some don't even have a description of why I like them when I am actually feeling like doing it, I 'll write something for them, I'm sure they'll forgive me. ;) And yes, some of them are from different blog posts, which I've just copy and pasted to here.
Now, if you read the first three books. i.e. Waterfall, Cascade and Torrent chances are that you won't get to hear that much about Luca, he's usually in the background adding a humorous quip in the background. He's got green eyes and he's blonde and as we all know Vellvin has this thing for blonde guys. No idea why. :) Luca is committed, kind and determined. He's captain of the Forelli guard and is very stern when it comes to his duty. He's a bit of a flirt but that's only to the one girl that he really, really likes. And his patient, it's quite obvious that he really likes her, but he waits patiently to see what she thinks about him. He's a fun-loving passionate guy. And he's pretty amazing with a sword. Before reading the two novellas I liked Marcello better than Luca, now I think it's the other way around.
Batman/Bruce Wayne- Okay, so this year I finally saw the Christopher Nolan, Batman movies. True, these movies aren't made by Marvel, but that doesn't mean that they are any less great than some of the Marvel movies. They are also, (in my opinion) more dark and yes, pun intended as they are known as the Dark Knight Trilogy. When we first meet Bruce he's a little eight-year-old boy who's fallen down a hole to a cave where bats live. And he hates them. Next day, boom his parents get shot, fun, fun. We fast forward a little bit and he's a stupid irresponsible young man who no thought really, of what to do with his life. Then he starts to travel the world, to find a way to fight injustice, is trained by Ra's A Guhl but does not think that they're methods are right. Killing for killing and such. And he says that this is what draws the line between good and bad, and I've got to agree with him. He's a smart, smooth guy. With some nice Lamborghinis if I might add, but he sacrifices a lot in him being Batman. And the fact that he got a happily ever after, starting a new life with Selina, getting married was great. Because he deserved it.
Kili
Horatio Hornlbower
Archie Kennedy
Thor: Prince of Asgard
Gabriel Martin
Esca is from the Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff. Which is one of my favourite books by the way. He's kind and dependable and his friendship with Marcus is awesome. I love it how the author managed to deepen their friendship as the book continued. He isn't one for lots of talking which is maybe why I like him so much because there is room to imagine. The Eagle movie which was based off the book was terrible and I do not base Esca off that at all, I like him (the character Esca) because of the book. When I'm married I want to have a kid and call him Esca. :)
And yes, I know it's got Marguerite in it, but it's one of my favourite pictures of him. :) |
Ah, now this guy has been one of my all time favorite guys since pretty much when I started reading thicker books. Will is a kind, dependable, awesomely cool character. I love it how he can be a very nice person to have on your side....and a very dangerous enemy. In the first of the Rangers Apprentice books by John Flanagan you meet Will, he's the person nobody knows anything about, the orphan without a background, and the one none of the craft masters would take him on the choosing day.....until Halt. Will grows in his character in each book and I especially like his optimism and how he's ready to sacrifice himself in The Burning Bridge. I love his friendship with the Skandians and how friendly he is. In short he's awesome!! Oh yeah, and you gotta love that hair he has!! :D
Yup. Kili and Will certainly are awesome. Though in Desolation of Slaughter Kili's kinda wimpy...Hey have you read the Brotherband Chronicles? If you like RA you'll like them.
ReplyDelete:D I'm glad we agree! :) I've read Brotherband, I can't say I like them half as much as I like RA.
DeleteI had to comment when I saw DUSTFINGER on this list!!!:D Ahem, oh, and of course, the other guys were great too;)
ReplyDeleteHehe. Dustfinger is pretty awesome! :) Yeah and I love the other guys too. Otherwise they wouldn't be on this list. ;)
