The Movie Quote Quiz Results...

First off guys, great job! You don't know how much I enjoyed looking at all your answers and smiling and I am really glad I did that blog post, and I think I shall make it a Monthly thing, as you enjoyed as much as I did.
Note: Stars between a name means they guessed the movie and the character. Also, note that some people knew what movie I was talking about, but did not use the correct title. Just thought I'd point out. :)
Anyway, the results:

1. You're at 114 Solenski Plaza, 3rd floor. We have an F-22 exactly 8 miles out. Put the woman on the phone or I will blow up the block before you can make the lobby."
Movie: The Avengers Character talking: Coulson. People who got it right: *JT* *Imogen* *Jamie* Daniel

 2. "Are you willing to die to find the truth?"
"You bet I am!... Although, I'd prefer not to."
Movie: Kung Fu Panda 2. Characters: Lord Shen and Po. I was actually a little surprised that no one go this but one well. :)

 3. "Oh, on the stage, well I'd like to see you act, what are you in right now? I could brush up on my English, or bring along an interpreter, that is if they'd let in a *movie* actor."
"I'm not in a play right now, but I will be. I'm going to New York..."
"Oh, you're going to New York and then some day we'll all hear of you, won't we? (name) as Juliet, as Lady Macbeth, as King Lear. You'll have to wear a beard for that one of course."
Movie: Singin' in the Rain. Characters: Don Lockwood and Kathy Selden. People who got it right: Jamie

4. "Who is this? Your brother?"
"That is my wife!"
"And who is this horrid creature? A goblin mutant?"
"That is my wee lad, (name)"
Movie: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug: Characters: Legolas and Gloin. People who got it right: *JT* Daniel, *Imogen*

 5. "Oh, look at that. I've been impaled."
Movie: Frozen. Character: Olaf. People who got it right: *Imogen*

 6. She wouldn't want us to fight.
"Well, she wouldn't exactly be shocked."
Movie: Thor: The Dark World. Characters: Thor and Loki. People who got it right: *Jamie* *Imogen*
Just to unnerve you all. :)
7."I never cared who you were..."
"And you were right."
"...but shouldn't the people know the hero who saved them?"
"A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended."
Movie: The Dark Knight Rises Characters: Gordon and Batman/Bruce Wayne. Now, seeing as Daniel guessed, 'Batman' and Batman is one of the people talking will take that as a point. But next MQQ I will be more straight rules. Same reason I gave JT two points instead of one as he guessed DOS but said it was Gimli and Legolas speaking instead of Gloin and Legolas. :)
People who go it right: Daniel

 8."Gee. He looks blue."
"I'd say brownish-gold."
"No, no, no. I mean he's depressed."
"Oh."
Movie: The Lion King. Characters: Timon and Pumba.  People who got it right: *Imogen* Daniel, *Jamie*

9. "Now (name), he's been my pal for as long as I can remember. He's brave, like a cowboy should be. And kind, and smart. But the thing that makes (name) special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what."
Movie: Toy Story 3 Character: Andy. People who got it right: *Imogen* *Jamie* Daniel
*Starts getting misty eyed*

10.Our battles quickly got more elaborate. He would win some, I would ALMOST win others! He took the name: (name), defender of Metro City. I decided to pick something a little more humble: (name), incredibly handsome criminal genius and master of all villainy!"
Movie: Megamind. Character talking: Megamind. People who got it right. *Imogen* *JT* Daniel *Jamie*

Thank you to you all for having fun and trying to guess, like I said, I really enjoyed it! :D

Let's see if we can do this...

disney movie quotes

I have wanted to do another Movie Quote Quiz for ages. I just wasn't sure how to proceed. Anyway, I finally decided to do another one. If people like it that much maybe I'll make it a monthly thing. Also, in previous times I made an award for the winner and award for the participator. That will no longer be happening. This is just for fun, after all! :D
The Rules:
1. Don't look any of the quotes up on the internet, or any other "looking-up" device.
2. Submit your answers in a comment on this post. You may submit as many comments as you need to, depending on when you remember the different quotes.
3. You score one point for every correct answer you submit -that's telling me what movie the quote is from- and you can also earn an extra point by telling me who said the quote!
4. You MAY ask immediate family members (parents, siblings, pets, etc.) for help and you MAY watch a movie again to see if one of the quotes is in it (of course, that would probably be a waste of time, but whatever :P

If you didn't notice I'm in a bit of a Disney mood. :D Which is not a bad thing.

A Slice of Pizza

Most people title posts like this, 'A Slice of Life' me, I thought it would be cooler to call it what it is now. After pizza is very agreeable, although it could have been a slice of fudge as well, so many delectable choices. :)
Anyway, so what's been happening with me? Hmm, lots of things really.
1. I finished House of Hades. Yes, that book that I was really really annoyed and disgusted with. Thank Goodness I finally have, because I hate to have books that I've only half read hanging around.
2. Watched the last two Hornblower episodes with Rogan. We both agree that Maria is actually a better character than the french girl (I can't even remember her name). And her making him gloves before he leaves. Well, we were both saying 'Aww' when she gave them to him. But we were also about ready to give him a talking to in Duty until the end...then it was much better though it is not one of my favourites.

And we both really like Mr. Bush.

3. Been going in the pool a lot. And enjoying it. It's been really nice as the last few days have been really hot about 40.
4. Watched the last episode of Season 3 of Sherlock. I actually didn't enjoy it that much as it had some stuff in it that I didn't think needed to be in there. My favourite part was the Sherlock and Mycroft moment when they are at their parents' house and their mother almost catches them smoking and Mycroft tells Sherlock that he really does care about him. Also the reconciliation between John and Mary, that was hands down, the best part out of it all. Out of the three I think that probably The Sign of Three was my favourite. I absolutely loved Sherlock's speech. And him organising the page boy and telling a friend of Marys that he had been dropped to casual friend was really funny. Also, it probably had the best mystery out of the three. I did love the first episode but the second is the best I think all round.

Dat speech.
I absolutely loved Sherlock's speech. And him organising the page boy and telling a friend of Marys that he had been dropped to casual friend was really funny. Also, it probably had the best mystery out of the three. I did love the first episode but the second is the best in all areas.

Also that cliff-hanger? Well, I'm certainly not as interested or emotionally surprised and upset like I was for Reichebach Fall. I mean, BBC confirmed Moriarty to be dead and he's got to be dead. Otherwise Sherlock will just turn into one of those stupid T.V. shows where there is the same bad guy over and over again. Also, not a two year wait please, a year, no more. That's all I ask.  Also, they've been planning seasons 4&5 one very excited girl here! :D

5. Been looking at my drafts. I've got about thirty-six of them and I really need to work on some of them.
6. I've also been making skirts for us girls. Mum also wants one, I've made one for me and Arwen and I've cut out and over-locked almost all of Moran and Myffwyn's skirts. Mum also wants one so busy, busy.
7. Getting excited for a sleepover which me and Eden have organised this Monday night, we are planning on watching movies and staying awake as long as possible, and then crashing. It will be interesting to see how long I last. :)
8. I've got a dead-line to finish TT but actually I haven't done very much reading of it. Hmph, anyway, but I am reading a really nice book by Chrisitne Pope which Mum got off Kindle for me. It's surprisingly more mature than I thought it would be, but I am loving reading it anyway. And I really love Lord Shaine, he's such a sweetie!
Isn't the cover gorgeous?
9. We celebrated Eden's 18th Birthday last Saturday. Her birthday is actually in July but there were some complications of getting a date that suited everyone. It was pretty exhausting, but nice, and everyone had to wear a mask. Me and Rogan also dressed up as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson, though we didn't get any pictures and the trench coat, then suit coat, were really boiling so it didn't last long. I even had band-aids for nicotine patches and Rogan had a gun, so it was very fun. :) Also, Mum has a pink phone so I walked around with that a little. And we were trying to find a serial killer as well, that's why we were there, investigating.

10. I went and saw Frozen for the second time the other day, I'd already seen it once and then Saxon because he was going crazy as we were listening to the songs from it and quoting, wanted to go and see it, and he generously took Rogan and I along with him. As it turned out, we sat right down the front, it was very interesting as we always try and get the back seats, but the cinema was packed. Anyway, I'll hopefully have a post on Frozen up soon. I enjoyed it much more the second time rather than the first. Thank you Saxon for taking us!

Anyway, I'd better go. That's just an update of what's been going on, hopefully I'll post again soon, but yeah anyway, see you guys!

Bonding with my Brother

So yesterday Mum took most of the younger kids out, and me and Rogan had a master plan. A good plan. A stupendous one, even.
We were going to watch a Hornblower in the middle of the day! Now, if you are from a big family, this idea of watching something in the middle of the day which your younger siblings aren't allowed to watch is a very strange concept. Also it's holidays. :D
But we did it anyway. We sat ourselves in the study and devoted about two hours of our time watching it, and saying which characters we hated, cheering on Horatio and Archie and their men and generally booing the stupid French guy with his guillotine.
Can I just say how much I love his hat?
But wait! I'm not finished, later on I asked Mum if we could watch the next one after that! And being the awesome person she is, she let us do that as well.
And after that, my mind went working again, and yeah I thought 'Hey maybe we can watch the next one tonight!' And Mum said that was okay as well!
Seriously that was about 5 1/2 hours of watching the story of a British Naval officer. And we loved every minute of it. Rogan and I were the only ones who watched, and I think hes little heart was broken when both Archie (*sob*) and Williard (*sob*) both died. Even so, though they are both some of my favourite characters as well.
And through all three movies Rogan was asking questions and I was answering and we were saying who was irritating, who we liked, and who we absolutely hated, or needed a spine.
Anyway, it was great fun to do that, and today Mum is taking all the little kids with her to do some birthday shopping for Eden. Sadly, Rogan is going as well, so I shall have to find something else to do, I wonder what?

The Desolation of the Movie Theatre

the-hobbit-the-desolation-of-smaug-banner-2

Okay, so I should probably just get this post done. I've been stressing about it, actually if you'd believe it.
Right, so Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug was pretty awesome.
I loved pretty much all of it.

Bilbo was adorable. And smart. Did anyone else freak out when Thranduil is like 'I see you hiding in the shadows' and you're like 'Oh, awkward.' Then you work out that he isn't talking about Bilbo at all. I was surprised that Bilbo was actually a lot more of a follower in this movie though. Yes, he showed his ingenuity and all that, but the really didn't say anything about some of the dwarves being left behind which was not what I was expecting. I love how awkward he can be though, like when he forgets how he is going to get out of the Elves strong hold once the barrels are gone. And he reminds me of John Watson, seeing as he is actually the same actor. The part with the key was so obvious that it was going to be Bilbo who worked it tou that I was smiling. And they almost lost the key, too! I was actually a bit worried that they would butcher the spider part as Bilbo was wrapped up, thankfully this was not what happened as I had been looking forward to that part more than any other part in the entire movie. I know Smaug was quite a big part of it, but I wanted to see Mirkwood more than anything else.

Thorin was pretty uninteresting in this movie, I just think he's a bit of a grump frankly. Yes, he was wise to not say yes to Thranduil, I agree with him there. But isn't it obvious when he promises the men that he most certainly won't give them what he promised them. After all, he does get rather greedy in the book, if anyone remembers that little detail. And yeah, rather grumpy like I said. Also, you'd think after all they'd been through that Thorin wouldn't leave any of the dwarves behind at all. Despite the fact that Kili got a arrow in his leg. And he didn't even seem to care very much. And he was rather bossy, too.

Gandalf was an alright character. I was utterly disgusted that Azog had the nerve to hit him , much less, fight him. Even, after the movie I kept saying to the others, 'He hit Gandalf!' in a disgusted voice. The parts in Dol Guldur with Gandalf were both scary and cool. I loved the fact that Gandalf so clearly represented good. And as in all movies, good triumphs over evil, the question is though, how the heck is he getting out of that cage? And I mean this is Gandalf, the wizard who would alter on defeat the Balrog, he's stronger than he looks. But he was facing Sauron, it also has to be admitted.
And I think we were all as scared as Gandalf when Radagasts bird flew out at his face.

Kili was a more main character in this movie. And I didn't have a problem with that. The plot device of him getting an arrow in his leg worked. I was rather worried about him, I admit. My favourite part with him probably has got to be his conversation with Tauriel in Thranduil's dungeons. With the talisman. And I really liked it how he said his mother thought he was reckless. Because, that's true. I was also like, when he says about how she wants him to come home to her safe, I thought unhappily, 'Well, that's not going to happen.' Because as we all know, he dies. We just need to make sure that it's extremely epic, along with Fili's and Thorin's deaths as well.

Tauriel was an extremely cool new character. She really stood out from the other elves seeing as she has red hair. But she was really, really, cool. And I really liked her. She's deadly when she fights but also a great listener and talker. Sadly, my whole 'telling-of-Legolas' thing didn't really happen. Did anyone think 'It's Arwen all over again,' when she's healing Kili with the Athalas. Much like what Arwen does for Frodo before the get to Rivendell. She was smart and resourceful, though a little attached to the dwarves, adn most importantly to Kili.

The Kili/Tauriel relationship. Now, some peopel frown on this and others don't mind it at all. I rather liked it. And I liked Tauriel's 'He is rather tall for a dwarf' comment to Legolas. It made me smile. :) Some Ringers are absolutely disgusted with this proceeding. I don't mind it. And before people are ready to stamp me into the ground, might I just point out, that the Aragorn/Arwen relationship is not that much different. Expect maybe for the fact that Arwen is more elf than human. But just thought I'd point that out. Also, I reckon Tauriel will die as well. Just sayin'
Please excuse the Italian? I've no idea.

Legolas was surprisingly a very interesting character to follow, I really quite enjoyed everything with him. From his awesome fighting, (Orlando Bloom has not lost his touch) to all the dialogue moments with him in them. Him and Tauriel are best friends but whereas he likes more than that, as far as I can gather, she sees him just like a brother. The love triangle thing better be cleared up, because it is a bit irritating nevertheless. I think that either Legolas will free Gandalf, or that he will see the armies approaching and somehow find out that Gandalf's imprisoned, or maybe he'll bump into Radagast and they plan a rescue, that would be fun to see! :D I actually think that Legolas was better in DOS than he was in the LOTR trilogy because he didn't just fight, he talked, and that gave him more character depth.

Smaug. Now, everyone was excited about seeing Smaug, weren't they? I was also doubly excited because Benedict Cumberbatch was doing his voice and he's Sherlock. And I also think that it was funny seeing as he's best friend in the T.V. series is John Watson who is also played by Martin Freeman. So very funny. :D
I was actually disappointed with Smaug. The thing that irritated me more than anything else, was the fact that his wings were attached to his front feet instead of being folded in behind his head on his sides. That just really irritated me. I like European dragons and I have never, ever imagined Smaug like that. Also, I always imagined him very, very red. Not gold.
Had to share, sorry. :)
And his voice wasn't that impressive. Sorry, it's just I was disappointed. And I didn't like the fact that Bilbo pulled off his ring. But chasing after the Arkenstone was pretty funny to watch. Who knows, maybe he'll improve in the final movie.

Bard was a nice addition to the cast, I really liked him. And his relationship with his son and daughters, and he is very obviously a weary man. Question is, how is he going to get out of prison and kill the Smaug.

Honourable and un-honourable mentions: Balin in honourable, Azog un-honourable, Master of Laketown un-honourable, other-whats-name-I-can't-remember-who-is-after-Thorin-for-Azog-Orc-character/thingie un-honourable. Master of Laketown's assistant un-honourable. Fili honourable. Radagast honourable. And so on.

And to end this post. I thoroughly enjoyed The Desolation of Smaug and look forward to There and Back Again. Though it did have a few slow bits more to the end I liked it anyway. And the ending was really annoying! Argh! I don't like cliff-hangers, but on the other hand, I do. :)
How about you guys?

'Well, surprise me.' 'I'm certainly endeavouring to, Sir.'

Spoilers ahead, for all those who do not want to ruin the surprise. I wouldn't advise reading further unless you've seen it.
Okay, well last night I saw the first episode of Sherlock Season 3: The Empty Hearse.
It was awesome! I really enjoyed it. There were so many laugh-out loud moments. Dad, Mum, Eden, Saxon and I were invariably chuckling and laughing. I'm not quite so sure about Autumn. Thank you so much, though for finding it on-line, Autty! You're awesome. :D

Now, the mystery wasn't much of a mystery, it was more like 'A Study in Pink' where there are introductions and that sort of stuff. I didn't think that much of Mary when you first meet her, but she grew on me. And I really like her.
Lestrade's reaction was great, and more what I thought there would be in John's reaction.
Oh, and Sherlock drives a motor-bike.
There were some really funny Mycroft and Sherlock moments which were really funny. The way he survived his fall? Well, everyone thought it was a bit more elaborate but it was actually really simple, and we all feel a bit stupid, I shouldn't wonder. :P
This bit. *starts laughing*
The part in the train where Sherlock couldn't work out what to do, well, I thought he actually couldn't. But then he's Sherlock Holmes, of course he knew! 'There's an off-switch, there's always an off-switch.'
'Killing me, oh please, that's so two years ago.'
Molly was a bit more main, I think the relationship between her in Sherlock is better in this season. Almost big brother, little sister.
John's mustache. Now, what all the fans agreed was that John's mustache was not adding to his looks. It was a total surprise that Mary didn't like it, and neither did Sherlock. 'Let me just ask you one question..you're not going to keep that are you?'
The reunion between Sherlock and his best friend was hysterical, we were laughing all the way through it, also the fact that John is really, really mad and tries to throttle Sherlock in three different cafes.
I picked up a few references from the original stories, which I was rather proud of, I didn't pick up half of them, as some were more subtle.
So....I'm guessing that the person watching the screen at the end of the episode is Charles Augustus Milverton.
So, to end this post, I can't wait to watch episode two, and it was a great start to the third season! :D
Cannot wait for this!
Now, being the nice person that I am. Here's the link to where we watched it, and if you are dying to watch, I recommend clicking on the link, and starting it. :)
