Happy Feast Day St. Catherine.

Today is the feast of St. Catherine of Siena mine and my sister Autumn's patron saint.
I remember reading St. Catherine of Siena when I was eight or nine and being amazed at what she did.
This was the book about her that I read. Consequently it  was the smallest of our Saint books.

She saw saints in the sky which was way totally awesome. She was from a large family which is something we have in common though her family was bigger than mine but she was very inspiring and she told the pope to go back to Rome. Oh, yeah, and she had the stigmata which was invisible. She also became a Doctor of the church
Since I read St. Catherine of Siena I wanted her as my patron saint. And so on my Confirmation day I was confirmed and I became 'Vellvin Faine Catherine Agnes' a nice mouthful. :)
Happy Feast of St. Catherine everyone! And especially to my sister Autumn.
St. Catherine of Siena pray for us!

Entwined

This post has spoilers in it.

I got Entwined from the library a few days ago and I had to wait for Mum to preview it. She said I could read it. I started to read it on Wendsday morning but only read a small bit of it. I read more of it on Thursday and that night when Mum came up to say good night I asked her if she could stay with me while I went to sleep. You know why?
The book freaked me out.
But lets just start from the start and get to what scared me later alright?
Okay starting off, it is not as good as Princess of the Midnight Ball no, I didn't finish Entwined, no, that's right, I didn't. Entwined had a slower start and took a while to get into whereas Princess of the Midnight Ball was like first chapter Galen has the old woman give him the white and black wool. Oh, yeah that's probably what was so ah! None of the guys in Entwined beat Galen. None of them! Fairweller (not quite sure if I spelt his name right) I really liked and Lord Teddie but seriously Galen is like so cool.
Azalea is a caring sister. I acknowledge that and she was close to her sisters another plus, Clover and Bramble I really liked and it was funny the night Lord Bradford comes and everyone's pestering him.
The King I didn't like very much at the start but he grew on you because you got to hear and learn more about him.
One of the things I was like, oh that's stupid' was that the girls are like "Oh, look its a secret passage, lets go down it and see what's inside.' They didn't even take a long knife or anything did they? I would have if I had been them. Maybe a sword instead hmmm.
Now the scariness and creepiness well, they actually have a name, yes, a name.
Keeper. I myself like to call him Keeper the Creepy, rhymes too. He's a little strange at the start and than your like "OH MY FLIPPING HECK HE IS SO SCARY!" Like living on the top of the pavilion stealing the needle and the brooch being just so scary. I much prefer the bad guy from J. D. George's who isn't like so creepy. Than his demanding that they find the magical object and destroy it and than saying you can't come back if you don't find it" blah, blah, blah. I mean seriously? Who'd want to go dancing after that sort of thing I mean Keeper want to set himself free 'Alarm bells' ringing Azalea are really slow and than when she finds out he's D'Eathe mad guy who wants to set himself free so he can kill the general. (not knowing the killing part of course) but its just first they walk down the staircase,a and than there are all these people there than they all disappear then this guy says they can come back whenever they want and than things which they bring start going missing and than he wants to be set free? Also the part with Azalea's mother and Keeper was way to creep. More creepy than anything else this guys keeping souls and stuff (never found out if this was true).

So if it hadn't of had Keeper the Creeper so very creepy and sneaky (that rhymed) I would have finished it but after that I don't think so.
I got Mum to tell me the rest of the story and it sounded a little long winded but than some books are like that and I was glad that Mum told who ended up with who. And that's it. I would say that if I had been a bit older I would have looked at Entwined in a different light but at the moment I still think it's creepy.
And yes, a recommendation of age I think is appropriate for this book:
15 and up I'd say maybe 16 or up.

Sorry if this post is a little hard to deceiver but than that's how I wrote it. :)

Of Tags and Awards.

Recently I have been thining about making my blog award free and tag free.
My reasons are easy to explain if you'll follow me.
I am sure you kn ow that blogs go stages and seasons just as people do and while I have enjoyed tags and awards in the past I just feel that is not  where i am right now
And so ............
1. Although I love people tagging me and I am very happy when people do I find it tiring to answer questions over and over again even if they aren't actually the same questions.
2. I don't find writing the tags out in a post enjoyable. Sometimes they pop into my head and I realise that I really should go and do that blog post when I want to do another post.
3. Because the posts aren't actually my own originals they don't feel as special or fun to do.
4. I find it hard to tag people. I hate having to going an tell how-ever-many-bloggers I tag that they've been tagged.
Sometimes my reaction to doing a tag is like this.

5. I hate tags especially which say 'Tag this many people." I usually don't do that amount which they tell me but still it's annoying.

So those are my reasons. I am sorry if you have tagged me recently but I just don't feel like tags at all any more. Or awards. I might do an occasional tag if someone says anyone can do it sort of thing but thing but only if I want to.

An awesome character.

NOTE: this post has a lot of rambling in it and are in an uncertain order of events so just read it, and if you can't work out what I'm saying read the storyline of Hornblower and you'll understand..maybe.
Recently we have been watching a TV show called "Horatio Hornblower".
I fist heard about it Hornblower from Nana over at 'by the way' you can find Nana's post on Hornblower here.
After having read the G.A. Henty book 'a Roving Comission' which tells the story of a young Midshipman, Hornblower like something which would be worth while to watch and the fact that I can't watch a  lot of older kids's movies (I can watch some though not a lot) and the fact that people don't make a lot of movies which I can watch is quite annoying.
Of course I had to wait until it came from the library (I hate waiting) but after that it was worth the wait.

After watching the sixth episode of Hornblower(called retribution) last night I was heartbroken.....my favourite character had died.
My favourite character was a guy called Archie Kennedy, it might seem strange that Horatio wasn't my favourite because he is the main character and I admit he isn't though he's pretty cool too but I have this thing ( I think with secondary characters, the people who aren't as main as main but are still there).

I really liked it that he and Horatio were best friends, and Archie had a sense of humour plus, his smile was so nice.
I felt sorry for Archie in the first episode, he had Mr. Simpson being so horrible to him, his nightmares and such though a little strange were so sad and than at the end of the episode he was gone and it was all Mr. Simpson's fault he was gone! I don't like Mr. Simsp
He came back in the third episode (called the Duchess and the Devil) which I was SO glad about! And than because we didn't have the fourth episode of Hornblower we watched the fifth and sixth (we watched two cause the fifth was a cliffhanger)  and than he got killed. :(
Archie is currently in the top of me heroes list (you could probably make that out by how I am going on)
He's jumping off the cliff was very cool as well.

Archie however is more than cool....
Archie

he's awesome. ;)

Tongue Twisters

Yesterday we were watching "Singing in the Rain "together while Mum, Dad and Trahaearn were out shopping for Corbyn's birthday. We got to the part where the guy is saying all the tongue twisters and fortunately with sub titles it is easier to work out what they are saying. Do you like saying tongue twisters? I do. My favourite tongue twister from singing in the rain was this one "

Sinful Caesar sipped his snifter,
seized his knees and sneezed."

This tongue twister isn't as hard to say but now try saying this one from singing in the rain

”Chester chooses chestnuts,
cheddar cheese with chewy chives.

He chews them and he chooses them.
He chooses them and he chews them. . .

. . .those chestnuts, cheddar cheese
and chives in cheery, charming chunks. ”

Now I'd find that really hard to say, what about you?
I googled 'tongue twisters" and I also found these nice tongue twisters. Learn them and than say them really fast ans see if you get mixed up.

"There was a fisherman named Fisher"
"who fished for some fish in a fissure."
"Till a fish with a grin,"
"pulled the fisherman in."
"Now they're fishing the fissure for Fisher."

You have to say this one fast three times.

Wrist Watch
Wrist Watch
Wrist Watch...

Anyway I think that tongue twisters can be amusing and fun. And they are great to get people to say, and than to hear them say them fast is the best thing about them!
