Today I want to tell you a story. It's a simple story to outsiders but to people who actually were there when it was happening, it's not. It's a very complicated story. And it begins in the year 2010.
Once there was a girl who met a boy at his family's house in Tasmania. The girl had come there because her father was going to be a sponsor to one of this boy's sisters for her confirmation.
They struck up a friendship there and then. They even dressed up as gangsters and took photos together which were very funny.
The girl only stayed for a short while though and then went back home. But the friendship didn't end. Countless Facebook messages were sent getting to know each other even more. They became best friends. The girl tried to visit as much as she could and she was always welcomed. The boy even went to visit her on some occasions as well such as her birthday and she celebrated her sixteenth birthday with this boy and his family. He wrote her a song for her birthday and sang it to her on that day as well.
They changed their status's on Facebook to 'in a relationship'. They had passed the barrier from best friends to boyfriend and girlfriend.
They had trials and tribulations but that didn't stop them, and then finally they became engaged...they were going to be married.
Today is their Wedding. Today is the day that my brother Braedon is marrying his true love, Anna-Lisa. He was the boy and she was the girl. They met when Saxon, Eden and I had our confirmations and Rogan and Moran had their first communions. I had asked Mr. S. to be my sponsor and he had brought Anna-Lisa and her younger sister and older brother down to meet all of us as well. So in a way, you could say it was all my doing that they met in July of 2012 :P But it actually wasn't; It was God's. :D
So today I am a bride's maid. Today I will probably feel a bit sad, but happy, very happy. Sad that that this chapter in life is at an end and happy for so many different reasons.
And I will pray for them, and hopefully in time, God might bless them with children, which would make me an Aunty, finally after waiting for ages!
CONGRATULATIONS BRAEDON & ANNA-LISA!!
God Bless,
