My many identities..........

Now, if you know me in real life you might be surprised at some of the nicknames I have, some have been around for ages, others are used only occasionally and some aren't really used at all anymore. So here is my list:
1993
Porthos-Probably the fattest and most jovial out of the three Musketeers. So we have this young readers version of The Three Musketeers which has a cool cover of the three musketeers and we always said that I was Porthos. This originated from my older siblings telling the story of watching a version of the Three Musketeers at our Grandparents house (I don't remember me watching it) and Porthos was the one who was eating drum sticks or something and he was really funny. That's how it started anyway, but now if we even start talking about The Three Musketeers I'm Porthos. I've seen three different versions of Porthos being: The Three Musketeers (1993) which I got for Christmas because I really like it a lot. The Three Musketeers (2011) and The Musketeers ( T. V. series 2014-) My personal favourite, and who I think really is the best version of Porthos is the 1993 version. I would also add that probably from book to movie it is not the most faithful, but it sure makes for a great story.

I probably don't get called Porthos that much, but I've played Halo online with Rogan and Saxon and Eden (their respective characters being Aramais, Athos and D'artagnan) and my Steam profile is Porthos. :)

Legolas/The Elf- If any nickname is common out of all of mine, this is the one. The name 'The Elf' which eventually included Legolas as well started with my brother Saxon rhyming peoples names with different things. For instance, Eden was Eden of Sweden ect. So my name rhymes with Elven so Saxon began to call me Vellvin Da Elven. In fact my Instagram profile is that! :D Once I became Vellvin Da Elven it quickly became Legolas. I've gotta say I really like this nickname. I find that as a character Legolas is better int the Hobbit as he actually talks a lot. But I like LOTR better than the Hobbit, hence the reason why the picture is LOTR. :)

Flea- Okay, I know what you are thinking...What a weird name, right? Who would want a nickname like Flea? Well, really how it started is a bit of a long story.
A few years back, Mum bought this cartoon DVD series which was Hans Christian Anderson fairy tales. Now, I am honestly not an expert on Fairy Tales but there is one of the stories which we watched called 'The Professor and the Flea'. And it's about this Professor and his performing Flea. They get stranded on this island where there are cannibals and the flea manages to safe them by amusing the spoiled Princess who is in charge. Autumn and I find this very amusing indeed. And we have a habit of being a bit stupid, both of us, as sister are from time to time. :) And Autumn found that whatever I was doing was very funny. The Princess in the story says. "You amuse me, Flea!" And that is exactly what Autumn said. So in other words I'm the Flea and she's the Princess. :) I told you it was a long story. :)

Sergie- This is once again a nickname that Saxon gave me. I don't know how many of you guys ahve seen Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. I actually haven't even seen all of it. I fell asleep in it. :P But at the start of it the main guy is locked in a prison, and his team breaks him out. But he also helps one of his cell-mates out of the prison as well. This other prisoner calls him 'Sergie' even though his name is not that. So Saxon got into the habit of coming home from work and saying 'Sergie' to me. Of course this one hasn't been used in a very long time. :)
This is Balian and I the other week.
Belvie- This is my oldest nickname ever. Well, technically what it was suppose to be is 'Velvie' but the littler ones never actually said the 'V' at the start of it, but instead added a B. I think it will be really sad when they are bigger because it means that they will no longer refer to me as Belvie. Which will be really sad. :( When I'm talking to Arwen and Trahaearn I usually call myself Belvie. Trahaearn is the one who says my name like that the most.

So there you have it. Those are some of my nicknames/identities. What do you think?

In which I tell the story of my accident.........

Hello everyone. How are you all? I'm pretty well besides living on the lounge most of the time. :)
You may ask why I am spending most of my time on the lounge. Truthfully, I wish I wasn't. But I suppose I'd better start from the beginning:

I've been lounge-bound since Sunday of last week. This was because I had a panic attack on the way to mass and jumped out of the car. Thankfully the car had only just started up again, and even though my foot went under one of the wheels, I am pretty okay. Even so, that Sunday was really, really, difficult. I felt emotionally shattered. I had grazes on my upper legs, knees, feet, one on my side and two on my lower back. Goody. NOT!!!!
The pain for the first few days was quite a lot. Today I"m feeling much better. I'm just annoyed that I can't go around doing stuff, like I normally do.
On Monday I went to see the Doctor and he said that everything should be fine, beyond some bruising and a bit of pain. The nurses bandaged me up and we went home.

On Tuesday I went to see our family Doctor and she said that I would need to get X-rays just to be sure. So that meant having to go to another place, wait around for half and hour or so, and then get x-rays which were extremely uncomfortable because I needed to move this way, or that, and my knees were quite sore still, even though they were bandaged. Anyway, after that Mum and I went home.
By Thursday which was when I was going to see our family doctor again, I was actually walking around the house doing stuff, although I still was getting tired more easily. But guess what!!! The Doctor told Mum that the x-rays hadn't been clear on my left foot, and they weren't sure if I had a broken bone in my foot! I know it wasn't the Doctor's fault but it was still irritating. :( Which meant that I needed to have crutches until I could go for a CT scan. Which is today. I"m hoping that there is no broken bone.

I've been on the lounge most of the time since Sunday of last week and I've gotta say, that it is losing it's charm. I've done quite a bit of reading, but just sitting and reading all day has gotten rather dull. I know, that sounds so weird! Me, being bored of reading?! Never! It's more the inability to do anything else. So yeah. There was one book that I started on Friday and finished on Saturday, which I was very proud of.

It was called the Crystal Snowstorm and it is one of a series! :D I really enjoyed it! And then Anna-Lisa  and Balian came over on Saturday night and I got to hold Balian for a bit, even though he was crying, and that was nice. She also brought chocolate, which is always a plus. :) And we watched the Maze Runner which was really good, if somewhat confusing. Hopefully I'll be able to write about it in a few days. :)

So to end this post: Being lounge-bound is irritating but it does have it's perks. My CT scan is this afternoon and I"m really worried that I'll have a broken bone. I'd really appreciate any prayers that it is not so. Because I just don't want to spend anymore time on a lounge then I need to. And I'm also seeing a nurse this afternoon to look at my grazes. I'm not really worried about that as Mum knows what she's doing when it comes to that. She really is a great Doctor.
Jesus I trust in you.
So yeah, if you guys could pray for me, and for a good outcome, that would be awesome. :) I'm also sorry if this post rambles a bit but I'm sort of just getting the facts out. :)

It's eight years.....

Hello world! How are you all? Honestly I did not mean to be gone for so long but it felt really good anyway! I hope everyone has been well. I certainly have and I'm getting excited for Christmas, too! :D But then something equally awesome and amazing happened for me and my family eight years ago on this very Sunday.

We became Catholic! We became new members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. And seriously it's the best thing we could have done. :)
In a world where morals are being rolled around by what people 'feel like' at the time, not by what is actually right, the Church is a steady point, and anchor in a sea of chaos. And I thank God that he opened the door and we followed. God is so amazing that he led us, and showed us that this is where we truly belong.
So a very Happy Anniversary to me! :D (And hopefully I'll actually be posting again now. :P )

When going on a pilgrimage................

So you all may be wondering why and where and how is it that I haven't been blogging. Life's busy But beside life, I also went on a pilgrimage. And it was very fun.
The characters:
Frodo (me)
Sam (Saxon)
Merry (Eden)
Pippin (Rogan)
Gandalf (Dad)
Legolas (a good friend)

'It was in the 2014 in the Shire reckoning that four hobbits and their wizard friend went on a great journey that would take them many leagues and leave them with sore feet, tired eyes and no pints of which to speak. They were going on a great quest (the pilgrimage).
The trip was very long to get to their starting point. Mind you, if they had know what was in store for them I'm sure that Frodo and Pippin wouldn't have been so keen on the idea. Sam and Merry, on the other hand were veterans and quite happy to introduce us to any and all the exciting and exhausting things that would happen to us.

The first night, that is the night before our actual journey started, we slept in a hall. There were all manner of races sleeping, snoring or even talking. Not surprisingly the ones who were most interested in talking were the elves, after all, they wouldn't really need to sleep anyway. It was hard that first night to get to sleep. I missed my soft feather bed. I imagined the Sackville-Bagginses and the soft beds which they slept in, and Gandalf went pretty much straight to sleep and his snoring was kind of annoying.
The next morning me being the extremely smart hobbit I was an eager to get up early and be ready had set the alarm for 5:00 am in the morning. It's okay, though, don't freak out. Everyone had to be up for 5: 30 anyway.

It was a very long journey, Merry was particularly exhausted and so tended to hop in one of the carts (buses) that the Rohirrim had provided. Gandalf did a couple of time, too. Pippin and Sam walked the entire way. :P Good for them. Me being the ring-bearer and all, I had to have one cart trip, right? And yes, if you're wondering Sam did pull me along a bit at the end of the first day when I needed someone to hold my hand an help me.

There was tons and I mean tons of lembas (Subway) for lunch each day and by the third day I was heartily sick of it. Apparently it is suppose to sustain you for an entire day? I'm not sure about that but maybe the cookies they had could?

Legolas joined us the first morning and mostly stayed with Pippin and I. We were right up the front so we wouldn't fall behind all of the 'big people'.
We listened and talked and prayed. Pippin and I only got one or two blisters each.
Now, you may be wondering in all of this where Sam was. You know, he's suppose to be the one who makes sure that I keep going, right? He was telling people to get off the road! And I thought that was my job. :P

He was with a group of mixed Rohirrim and Rangers (Marshalls) making sure that we kept off the road, and that no black riders (cars or trucks) came by. He did that for most of the walk.

By the time we got to Sunday morning I was so glad. We were almost there! That morning before second breakfast (morning tea) we came to the big hill which apparently people race up. There were shouts of 'Gondor' (Victoria) and 'Rohan' (New South Wales). Rohan won but a lot of people ran anyway.
A little late on, I even considered going on the cart again but soldiered on. When we first saw the spires of our destination we all knelt down and prayed. But we still had a bit to go. The mixed group of Rohirrim and Rangers had the most difficult time keeping everyone safe.

Our meeting with our King (Jesus) at his place of domain (the cathedral) was a long one. But very good nevertheless. Throughout our journey he had been present in it. But then, it was all about him anyway.

And now, it is time for second breakfast, and then elevensies, and luncheon and afternoon tea, so obviously I have to go and do that.

Frodo Baggins signing off. '

So for three days we walked, talked and prayed. I found it very exhausting adn finally decided that seeing as I wasn't seeming to get much 'spiritual' that I was just going to walk for Jesus. That worked pretty well. Each day there was Mass. On Saturday it was actually outdoors but it was really lovely. If I hadn't of been so tired, maybe I would have concentrated more instead of being interested in just sitting down. :)
This blog post might sound a bit mish-mashed, and I'm sorry for that. But really, I'm quite tired and I don't really feel like writing a longer blog post than this. I went on a pilgrimage and it was an interesting experience.
And when we got home on Sunday night it was like Sam at the end of Return of the King. 'I'm glad I'm back.'

I thought you'd like to meet him...............

Yesterday at 11: 30 am we got a call from Braedon. Mum put him on speaker. And this is what he said:
'We have a little boy. His name is Balian George.'
He was born only an hour earlier and we spent about three hours going shopping for presents! :)
Then we got to go and see him. He is our first ever nephew or niece. Us kids and Mum and Dad are all very proud.
But the proudest of course, are Braedon and Anna-Lisa. They brought this little man into the world and he is just perfect. :) Congratulations to you both! <3
He's got red hair! :D

And another picture because I can. :)

Why I won't be doing monthly MQQ anymore....

Have any of you guys seen this movie?
Totally random and had nothing to do with this post except that it's a good movie. :)
Hi everybody. How have you all been? This last week as been really quite peaceful for me. :) The world around me is starting to turn to spring.
My baby Guinea pigs are growing (I don't think I told you I had baby guinea pigs, well I do). They are really cute. Their names are Chocolate chip, Sir Andrew Foulkes (Scarlet Pimpernel character) and Milo because of the colour of his fur. I had another one but it died the other day. :(
Portrait: And now we have baby guinea pigs too
This was them a few days after birth. :)
The swallows are returning to their nests, the chickens are laying lots of eggs each day and I am fully enjoying more sunny days. :) So in short life's been good. :)

Now, the reason for this blog post. I will no longer be doing monthly movie quote quizzes. The reasons:
1. They are time consuming
2. I stress when I don't post the results spot on.
3. It narrows my blog post writing time considerably.

If you look back at my blog from the last year, you'll find that about 50% of my posts are either movie quote quizzes, or the results. True, it has made it so that I do post no matter what, at least twice a month. But it also eats up my time and I'd rather be expressing my opinion on other things rather than doing this monthly.
I find that I don't have as much time for blogging as I used to. And that means I really want to focus on what I want to talk about rather than what I feel obligated about. Perhaps I'll write up my movie and t.v. show reviews that I started in April. But most importantly to just be me on this blog and be able to share my opinions on things and actually having time to do that. I hope you guys all understand. :) This doesn't mean that I won't post MQQ occasionally but I don't feel obligated to do so each month. I've got a special one planned for Christmas being special because all the movies will be Christmas orientated or at least will have Christmas in them.

If you've seen the above movie you'll get this. :D Hey! Maybe I'll write a blog post on Karate Kid! ;)

It's the little things in life that make me happy.

Staying unexpectedly at a friends house on Saturday night after being there for a birthday party. M and I got to stay up late, watched War Horse. It was actually (horrible as it sounds) really funny watching M and her sister's reaction to Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch. They knew that they were in there, they just didn't know that Tom died and Benedict got captured and that they were in it for only about ten minutes. :) We talked for about another two hours after finishing War Horse before going to sleep at 3: 00 am. It was really fun! :D

Seeing that this (points up) is available on Kindle finally! Here's the overview from the author:

WARNING TO MY BELOVED RIVER TRIBE: HARD THINGS HAPPEN IN THIS BOOK. Get your Kleenex ready...If you're not ready for some special characters to perish from plague and in battle, you won't want to read it. Seriously. You can walk away now and you can make up your own ending in your mind. BUT, that said, there's also a ton of romance and suspense and fun too! To embrace life, and live it to the fullest, we must appreciate the day--and occasionally face down death--and our beloved Forellis and Betarrinis learn that all over again. Ready? Ready. We can DO this... --Lisa IT'S ONE THING TO BATTLE FOR LIFE...BUT WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN DEATH ITSELF COMES HUNTING? The Bettarinis and Forellis have found rich fulfillment together in medieval Italia. But after fighting off countless enemies, they now must face the worst foe of all. Oh my goodness I'm so excited!!!! :D :D It's actually been a rather long and stressed day so seeing this really cheered me up! :D I reckon Rodolfo will die. It would be so typical and I hope that this one is as awesome as all the other ones.

Dear Luca, I'm sorry but after flicking through Waterfall again I decided, as amazing as you are, Marcello is still better. But I still love you, and I hope you'll be as awesome and funny as you always are. :)

Dear Gabi stay awesome! It will be very cool to see you as a Mum. I hope Marcello's and your little girl is adorable and I hope that you being a mother won't change your chracter too much.
Dear Lia, you and Luca better be in the process of getting/be married in this book. I mean when I see this: '"My heart has always been yours, Evangelia. You’ve ruled me, as a queen rules her servant. I live for God, for the House Forelli, and to be your man.” ~Luca Forelli, DELUGE'  on facebook what else should I think but OH MY GOODNESS! :D
This is not how I imagine him! Just in case you were wondering.

Dear Marcello please be as handsome and amazing as ever strong, compassionate and all-around swoon-worthy guy as usual, you being a Dad will be awesome. Oh and a sword fight or two wouldn't go amiss. :P

Dear Rodolfo I hope you'll forgive me for saying that you'll die. But it would make a TON of sense and I'd rather you'd die than Luca or Marcello. Just sayin'

Reading a book in bed after a long but very nice day. My pick last night was Brotherband: Slaves of Socorro finally we're getting some action but seriously, they will never be as good as Rangers.

Knitting a dish cloth in tiny little stitches and seeing that it turned out really nicely, if I do say so myself. :)

Planning sleep-overs and movie nights. So much fun! :D

Lending movies.

Planning on writing on blog post on the birthday party I went to in July. It was really fun! :)
This is Saxon as Walt Disney. :)

Anyway I'd better go. Chin chin!

A Slice of Cupcake (I'm not even sure that's possible).

So you remember that update blog post I was going to do? Well here it is. Random bits of random stuff.

On Wednesday after Mum and I dropped Eden off for her exams we went and did some shopping. But not just any shopping. One of our very good friends' birthday parties is next month. It's a Disney dress-up party and you have to dress up as someone from a Disney movie.

See?
I thought for ages that I'd loved to come as Maid Marian from the Disney version of Robin Hood. All time favourite movie when I was little as well. But the thing is, to get an outfit like hers would mean lots of lollie and probably too much stress to like the idea.
And then about the start of this month it hit me. Marvel is owned by Disney. *hint hint nudge nudge* and so I decided I would come as one of the main girls from one of them. Now, guess who I have decided on.

Nuh. Not Pepper Potts.
Nuh. Not Jane Foster.
Nuh. Not Natasha Romanoff.

Drum roll please....Peggy Carter!

And her outfit was surprisingly easy to get! I have a skirt that needs to be modified a bit, a leather jacket, shoes, and I need a belt for around my waist and a gun. This young lady http://www.bramblewoodfashion.com/2013/01/achieving-peggy-carters-look-from.html has done a nice video on how to do her make-up and hair and that is what I'll use for my base.

Saxon and Eden have also been invited. Eden is coming as Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (one of the scariest Disney movies I ever did see!) and Saxon is going to come as Walt Disney. :D
I'm really excited!

After we finished clothes shopping me and Mum went to a cafe/coffee shop and had scones and a muffin and hot drinks. I had a Chai latte and it tasted delicious!
Just look at it. Doesn't it look delicous.
I also was able just to talk to Mum about something I had had on my mind and it was just nice for the two of us to have to one-on-one time.

Mum and I have been doing Trim Healthy Mama. It's basically a healthier way of eating that actually works and helps with weight loss! Both Mummy and I have already lost weight and it's so easy and I really love it! To find out more about it: http://www.trimhealthymama.com/. That being said, when we went to the cafe we went off plan :O

I've been reading a few different books. I finished the Hound of the Baskervilles the other day. It was very enjoyable but I found that at some points I was rather freaked out! I read the last sixty pages (or something like that) in under 24 hours. I was rather proud of myself. :)

I finished listening to The Hunger Games after unsuccessfully trying to find the book. I'm now starting to read Catching Fire. I think I like Peeta better than Gale but then he has had more 'screen time'.

The younger kids are watching Prince Caspian while I write this. Do you realise that it is six years old now?
Humor

Watching things like Narnia or Star Wars bring back so many memories for me. And realising how much I love them, too. I think once we've finished watching Star Wars together (we've got the Original trilogy left) we should do Narnia. And can I say just how much I love Edmund in Prince Caspian? And Lucy, of course. And Trumpkin.
(The Chronicles of Narnia)

Is anyone else on Goodreads? I've been using it recently. Here is the link to my page: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/7470968-vellvin

Hopefully I'll be able to post my MQQ in a few days. Ciao!

Prayer Warriors Please!

I really need all the prayers you can possibly offer for my sister. She is making some horrible mistakes I don't know how much I can tell you. Only that I urgently need all the prayers you can give.
Our whole family is upset and just can't understand how this is happening (again).
Please, just pray!

At this time I've just woken up, and it is Easter morning, and finally I can say the forbidden word! Alleluia! Christos Anesti! Christ is Risen! Let us Rejoice and be glad! I hope you all have a most blessed Easter. And let us never forget the true meaning of this most special day!
And yes, this post is scheduled, can't you tell? :P
