So its what season now?????????

Since moving to the mainland the weather I have noticed is different. In Summer it is more hot than I ever remember Tasmania being but the one thing that I miss (or to be more exact) the two things that I miss about Tasmania weather which is known to be cold and rainy is that I miss it being cold and rainy.
We are two months into Autumn and are still having reasonably warm days. It is pretty much always a blue sky and you know what, I'm getting kind of sick of it.
In the words of Bilbo Baggins though altered
"I want to see rain again, Gandalf! Rain! And than find somewhere peaceful while it is raining and read my book."

Yep that's me. 'Apparently' the rainy month of the year in Wagga is in March but March passed with only as I recall, I think. TWO DAYS WHERE IT RAINED!! How ridiculous is that, hey?
I want to be able to snuggle under all my blankets and still need to have  jumper over the top of my PJ's and to wear woolly socks. To have to put the fire on and snuggle in front of it.
So yes, I'm ranting about how it hasn't really rained that much and how it is not as cold as it should be and by   the way its suppose to be the season of Autumn but where are those Autumn breezes that I am so fond of?! They are not as aplenty as they were in Tasmania, that's for sure!!!

My life thus far...

So I've been off blogger for a while and I know maybe its just that I don't feel the motivation to just 'go and do a blog post' as easily as I used to. Because I should've said this last Friday but I got my ears pierced!

Yep, I did. We went to the nicest Beauty Salon (yes, I know the name sounds funny but what can I say?) and it was just so nice! The lady who pierced my ears was very friendly and conversational. Not that I did much talking because I was so nervous but she did talk to Mum and Autumn and Eden.
Mum and I could have gone to get my ears pierced by myself but I wanted Autumn and Eden to be there as well. It felt nicer that way. :)
And now I've got to twist my earrings around three times a day and wash them twice with salt water. It's strange having these things in my ears but I'm sure I'll get used to them. :)
So what else has been happening?

Uh, that's right.
We went to Deacon I mean Father Brad's ordination Mass that was on the same day as when we got my ears pierced and it was just so good!
I've never been to an ordination was and though it was longer than normal masses because of the extra stuff which needs to be in there it was great. We had tons of priests and all the seminarians from Vianney College including the choir (the seminaran choir I mean) who were singing and one of them was playing the organ which was nice and loud!
And seriously they do a better job than the normal choir here. :P Just sayin'

Um, what else. We went to the special mass at Marian Hills, Tarcutta and the special procession up to the hill where the Divine Mercy picture is with a cross and an outdoor altar I think it was though I'm not sure because there was a lot of people there. Do not ask me to tell you how we FINALLY got there because you know what? Google Maps doesn't know anything! We asked for directions after Mum pestered Dad and we got good directions. Apparently it shouldn't be called the Divine Mercy Shrine Tarcutta because it ACTUALLY isn't in Tarcutta but about half way between Holbrook and Tarcutta. And if you have seen the Scarlet Pimpernel or read the book you will understand this little poem I composed

'We seek it here,
We seek it there,
Those Catholics seek it, everywhere
Is it in Holbrook or is it in Tarcutta?
That rather annoying Divine Mercy Chapel'

Not the Chapel itself or anything just the getting to where it was. The Mass was suppose to start at 12 but because there was so many people who wanted to go to confession we got there at the start of the readings!
We prayed that there would be lots of people going to confession after Anna-Lisa's (Yes, she came up for Fr. Brad's ordination) sister Chrissy sent a text or something like that saying that they might not start mass until 12:30 pm because of how many people were going to confession. Thank Goodness there were so many people!! It was an outdoor mass (well sort of) the chapel was inside and most peopel were in a covered car port but that's not important guess what else I got to do that day? I got to kiss a relic! I was so excited that I did! :D :D :D

And I gave Fr. Brad the cake I made for him and Autumn helped me decorate. We were going to make him cookies but instead made him a cake. He thought it was great! :D
And happy Birthday to my littler brother Corbyn who is turning 7 today! Love you little man!

CHRISTOS ANESTI!!!!

Today is the day that we rejoice in our Saviour's Resurrection!
Happy Easter, everyone! :D
Today we get to say Alleluia and today well, it has been a great day.

This is me, if you look closer you can see the babushka's
on my skirt. Aren't they great?! 

We all (meaning Dad, Mum, Kynan, Braedon, Autumn, Eden, Saxon, Vellvin, Rogan, Moran, Myffwyn, Corbyn, Arwen and Trahaearn) went to mass at the Seminary and all the hymns during mass had at least one mention of Alleluia, which was great. We all got given an Easter egg each by a family who goes to the Seminary except for me and Myffy because she gave Trahaearn her one so we shared.

This is all of us girls, as you can see I wan't looking at the camera straight as we  were sort of in a hurry.

We got a family photo outside of mass courtesy of one of the Seminarians, sang 'This is the Day' in pigeon English on the way home (actually we don't know the real version :P) and than a Donut Man song I think it was which was about one verse which we sang over and over again until we were singing it very fast indeed. It's great fun. :D

Francis I!!!!!!

I really should have posted this yesterday but I was exremely busy. "WE HAVE A NEW POPE!!!" No doubt pretty much everyone has already heard but anyway I am so excited!!!
Francis I!!!!!!! I woke up on Thursday morning and Mum was sitting up in bed with her I-Phone. "We have a new Pope!!" She said and I almost didn't believe but you know what?! We do!!!

A little bit about Francis I: Vatican Radio) The man elected to be the 265th Successor of Saint Peter in the conclave, is Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, S.J., Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ordinary for Eastern-rite faithful in Argentin who lack an Ordinary of their own rite. He was born on 17 December 1936 in Buenos Aires.
He was ordained for the Jesuits on 13 December 1969 during his theological studies at the Theological Faculty of San Miguel. He was novice master in San Miguel, where he also taught theology.
He was Provincial for Argentina (1973-1979) and rector of the Philosophical and Theological Faculty of San Miguel (1980-1986). After completing his doctoral dissertation in Germany, he served as a confessor and spiritual director in Córdoba.

A Consulting Detective

A Consulting Detective? What a strange and amusing notion.
But its true. :P There is such an occupation as consulting detective......or there is in the BBC series titled
'Sherlock'.
So far there are two seasons of Sherlock and six episodes  Two seasons and six episodes its true is not that much but when its 90 minutes long its pretty good. (Or though they could go longer or something or be more of them in the series.
Also be warned there is a spoiler in the Final Problem but there is a warning of Spoiler Alert! in red and I would advise that you don't read it. Otherwise this is a spoiler free post or as good as I can make it.

Now, you might have guessed you may have not, who my favourite character was.
Hmmm, lets see....
Did you guess right? How can Sherlock NOT be anyone's favourite character in this series. He's smart, he's a know-it-all and isn't very quiet about it. Moriarty calls his 'Sir Boast-a-lot. In fact, he is extremely smart except where the Solar System is concerned. I love how is normal outfit is his trench coat and scarf. No, he doesn't wear a hat all the time and he hates them too. He doesn't always answer his phone and when he's engrossed in something or just feeling lazy he asks John to.

 It's great when he plays his violin and how he does his deep meditations, breathing deeply and goes into his 'Mind Palace'. He's a bit harsh, with his dealings with people and you would expect to find a severed head in the cupboard when he is around.
Did anyone else like how he makes John coffee in The Hounds of Baskerville to show that his sorry and John keeps telling him that it's alright.

 The end of the Great Game was really cool. 'And I am sure you know what my answer will be.' That part with Henry in The Hounds of Baskerville was great how he demands Henry to be quiet and smoke! :D Such a Sherlock thing to do. And despite what he says he is actually a hero and he does have a heart 'I am told I don't have one'
And than at the end of the Final Problem where you see him and you are so relieved but you are still trying to work out how he did it. :P

John Watson is my second favourite character, he's not as smart as Sherlock or, as inquisitive, he's a soldier and he knows how to use a gun, which is very helpful and he is a great friend to Sherlock. He reads a LOT of newspapers and is a little more smart than Sherlock thinks sometimes 'I took a photo of it' From the Blind Banker. He writes a blog and gets a lot more hits than Sherlock's 'The Science of Deduction'
I loved it how he said at the start of the Final Problem, "My best friend, Sherlock...." Those two words 'best friend' are great.
He does say a couple of swear words though. :(

Oh, yeah, and I don't like Moriarty. He's creepy he actually reminds me of Rumpelsiltskin from Shrek when he telling the story of Sir Boast a lot and there are clouds in the background. 'Every Good fairy tale needs a good old fashioned villian'

So here are the three episodes for season one:
1# A Study in Pink, rated as number two on my favourites list
A Study in Pink was a very good episode to watch, it is the first episode so you see how Sherlock and Watson meet and how their friendship begins. It was a very elusive episode and one where when you found out how the bad guy had killed his victims was chilling  This has got to be one of the most creepy Sherlock's but one of the best.
2# The Blind Banker , rated as number three on my favourites list. This episode was not as good as a Study in Pink. It had some great lines from Watson but Sherlock wasn't as funny. I didn't think the bad guy was that great either but the end well, the end *cough, cough* you just have to jump to the next episode for
3# The Great Game, rated as number one on my favourites list. Well lets just say that it is awesome and the part where Sherlock is pretending to ignore Mycroft is hysterical. Mum actually said that Sherlock seems to act like a child sometimes, and I agree. Oh, and the end where you-know-what-happens-for-those-people-who-have-seen-it, and you-don't-know-what-for-those-people-who-haven't. :P And than it ended.

The three episodes for season two:
4# A Scandal in Belgravia, rated as nothing on my list.
We actually skipped this episode after finding out what happened at the end of the Great Game, it was going in a direction which none of us felt comfortable with and I highly recommend getting a parent to preview it before hand if you happen to find that it IS getting inappropriate or even beforehand.
5# The Hounds of Baskerville, rates as number four on my favourite list.
This episode was intensive, but not the best, it was good but not great. But guess what! I actually guessed who the bad guy was!!! I was so pleased with myself afterwards. And if we get another Rabbit we are calling it Bluebell.
6# The Final Problem, rated as number one (The Great Game and The Final Problem are the best and therefore they are tied) :D
How shall I describe this episode? As great? As sad? As heartbreaking? As the one where you really, really don't like Moriarty. The phone call between Sherlock and John was sad, I was amused however when Sherlock said 'It's what people do isn't it?'
To tell the truth I looked up what happened to Sherlock at the end. After reading Jamie's blog post before we watched Sherlock I had to check!
I couldn't bear the idea that SPOILER ALERT!!!! Sherlock died! I just couldn't it was such a great series. Apparently if you look carefully you can work out how Sherlock survives but no one has worked it out so far. :P END OF SPOILER!!  

I also love the series music, especially the main theme music.
I would not recommend Sherlock to anyone under the age of fourteen, maybe older as my Mum says that I am mature for my age.
It had a few words here and there and references about some stuff which I don't think needed to be there, some swearing which I was not happy with, and a small amount of blood but

Basically I can't wait for Season Three and I absolutely love this show. Sherlock is great!!!!

I love it how you call me 'Flea' and if anyone else outside of family heard they wouldn't get it. I love it how you announce 'You amuse me, Flea' whenever I actually do.
I love thefact that the day before you left you were apparently 'ignoring' me and yet I still got you to speak to me. :)
I love how you make me feel up when I'm down, especially when my birthday presents came late.
I love it how you agree with me that Mr. Darcy is awesome! And how you love to watch Pride and Prejudice and boo Wickham along with me.
I love it how you'll get books down from bookcases and tell me if they are good or not.
I love how I tell you off when you are doing or saying something I don't approve off, and yeah, you're kind of used to that and you don't really mind.
I love how you and Eden help me find clothes for Mass when I have no idea what to wear. :) You are both so clever at that.
I love it how you brush my hair and at the same time give my scalp a real nice scratch.
I love it how you have to have music with you wherever you go even though it is a bit annoying.
I love it how you love Star Wars and agree with me that Anakin and Padme are awesome....mostly Padme in your case.
I love it how you hate ants and have to have a professional ant smasher to deal with it. Like me.
I love it how you and I always have disagreements about which is better, ChickFlicks or Action. You choose Chickflick's and I choose Action

'Cause you are just so beautiful

.Life is an ever changing cycle. Something's we like which change and some things we don't.
Yesterday my biggest sister Autumn set off to Campion College in Sydney.
Siblings leaving is one of the hardest things for me. I well remember last year when Kynan and Braedon left home, it is always so very hard when these times come and I find that I am gradually getting to being one of the eldest kids at home.
And all I can say is that, Autumn you're the best biggest sister in the whole world and set your goals and you will reach them; be determined, and remember always: It is in God's Hands. Trust him, he's rather good at this sort of thing.  :)

We Love You Papa!

Last night just before I went to sleep I heard some astonishing news.
Pope Benedict the XVI is retiring! Such a thing has not happened in six hundred years.
This is his speech (which I assume) he spoke to his Cardinals.

Monday February 11, 2013 "I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is. Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. This news makes me feel both sad and happy. If you did not know we converted to Catholicism about six years ago. That was one year after he became the Pope. He has been the only Pope I have ever had, he's MY Pope if you'll follow me. He is such an inspiring person, he's so gentle and kind. He's our German Shepherd, and he will continue to be only until February 28th. He has guided the Church so very well during all these years since 2005. I will be praying for his coming succeeder who as of yet, we do not know and I pray that the Cardinals will make the best choice possible.

With much trepidation.....

I am entering into Jessica's 'Bookish Valentine Contest'.
It looked so fun and I have made two pictures with captions involving valentines.

This one I made all my myself and the quote is taken from the 1995 P and P when Mrs. Bennett says to her girls

And my other entry was made by Autumn and myself. I showed her my first entry and than she pulled out a chair and sat down, saying 'I want to do one too!'

So she helped me make this one.

I might have stretched the rules just a bit as that entire second line is not in the book or movie and we are talking the 1994 adaptation of Little Women, there is only one, proper adaptation  got that? Yes good!. And no, if you are wondering I can't remember if this is in the book or not either.

On what I did in the Holidays

So the Holidays are over and school is back. Partly I'm happy because its more structured and partly I'm sad because it means I have to get up at a specific time in the morning and to bed a certain time to get up again in the morning.
The thing's I did in the Holidays were not that many:
I celebrated Christmas which was a very beautiful and memorable day. I felt that it was indeed a beautiful and faith-filled Christmas. Filled with Family and laughter and joy.
Boxing Day: I didn't do many things on Boxing Day. It is always our recovery day, because Christmas is a very long exhausting day too. Mum and Dad went to see the Hobbit that evening...and loved it.
27th: Went and saw the Hobbit; it was amazing! :D
New Years Eve: Watched Thor with Braedon

He liked this part a lot, I think. 

 and the other older kids and Mum and Dad. Braedon seemed to like all of Thor's funny things he said,but he didn't think that Loki was that great a bad guy or his ambitions that great either.
New Year's Day: We went over to a friend's place and a lot of other Homeschooling people were there too. I met a girl named Rosemary and spent a lot of my time talking to her. I decorated a Pavlova while I was there as well. It was a very nice day. When we arrived home, about 30 mins later it was about 9 o'clock and Braedon had made dinner while we were out too.
My family and I went to a talk held at someone else's house who we know. I missed the actual talk though because I was helping with the little kid's who were watching video's and other such stuff because they wouldn't be able to understand or sit still. Two of the speakers were American's. One, was the President of Campion College and from what I heard him say, he's got an accent. :D Probably not an accent to fellow American's but to Aussies he did. :P
I bought a couple of books including the Scarlet Pimpernl which I have been searching for, for ages.
We had our very good Chinese friends stay with us for a night. It was a goof thing that it was Fish and Chips for dinner.
I finished reading the Hobbit and it was very good. Mirkwood and the end have got to be my favourite parts. I'm sooooo looking forward to the part where Thorin finds out what Bilbo did with the Arkenstone!
It will be very interesting. :D
I went bowling with Braedon, Autumn, Eden and Saxon last Thursday. We were invited by the older L kids so there was five of us and  four of them.

So I didn't hit all of them down in one lot in like ever. :P I was actually about the second worse

 I wasn't the most fantastic bowler; I sort of threw the ball onto the floor and it flew a little before it bounced finally (and very loudly) onto the ground. Thank goodness we were at the end of the line where the desk was farthest away from, tohugh there was a small desk right behind us where the people who worked there didn't go all the time. Plus, because of the interesting way I bowl (it was Braedon's idea not mine) I chose the heaviest balls.

Yes, so that's what I did in the Holidays. A nice lot if I do say so myself. Those things which I've listed are th major things I did. :)

The importance of pockets on aprons.

Most people wear aprons to keep themselves clean when they are cooking and cleaning, not me! :D

My Mum says I'm rough on clothes which is probably true and it would make sense if I ever remembered    to wear an apron but
most of the time I forget.
For me apron's HAVE to have at least one pocket, or forget it. I made my own apron a few years back, with my sister Autumn and I remember it was a nightmare at the time, but its lasted a few years from the

This isn't what mine looks like. My apron covers my shirt too. It wouldn't be much use if it didn't. 

and I love it to bits!
My apron has a nice pocket on the left side of it. I use it for two things and two thins only: One, to put small things like toys and sting and other such stuff like it which I am too lazy to put away or two, to put my phone in. (I use it only for music in case you're wondering).
Because I usually wear a skirt and I don't like pants very much my apron is the only way that I can listen to music and audio-books while I do jobs. It wouldn't be so great if I didn't have a pocket in my apron.
Aprons are protections for clothes, but they are also great for putting things like and I-Pod in. It's not a full apron if it doesn't have a pocket.
