It's the little things in life that make me happy.

Staying unexpectedly at a friends house on Saturday night after being there for a birthday party. M and I got to stay up late, watched War Horse. It was actually (horrible as it sounds) really funny watching M and her sister's reaction to Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch. They knew that they were in there, they just didn't know that Tom died and Benedict got captured and that they were in it for only about ten minutes. :) We talked for about another two hours after finishing War Horse before going to sleep at 3: 00 am. It was really fun! :D

Seeing that this (points up) is available on Kindle finally! Here's the overview from the author:

WARNING TO MY BELOVED RIVER TRIBE: HARD THINGS HAPPEN IN THIS BOOK. Get your Kleenex ready...If you're not ready for some special characters to perish from plague and in battle, you won't want to read it. Seriously. You can walk away now and you can make up your own ending in your mind. BUT, that said, there's also a ton of romance and suspense and fun too! To embrace life, and live it to the fullest, we must appreciate the day--and occasionally face down death--and our beloved Forellis and Betarrinis learn that all over again. Ready? Ready. We can DO this... --Lisa IT'S ONE THING TO BATTLE FOR LIFE...BUT WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN DEATH ITSELF COMES HUNTING? The Bettarinis and Forellis have found rich fulfillment together in medieval Italia. But after fighting off countless enemies, they now must face the worst foe of all. As the Black Death closes in upon them, threatening everything and everyone they hold dear, Lia and Gabi–and the knights they love–must dig deep within to decide how they might remain safe…and if they need to risk it all in order to truly live as they’re called.

Oh my goodness I'm so excited!!!! :D :D It's actually been a rather long and stressed day so seeing this really cheered me up! :D I reckon Rodolfo will die. It would be so typical and I hope that this one is as awesome as all the other ones.

Dear Luca, I'm sorry but after flicking through Waterfall again I decided, as amazing as you are, Marcello is still better. But I still love you, and I hope you'll be as awesome and funny as you always are. :)

Dear Gabi stay awesome! It will be very cool to see you as a Mum. I hope Marcello's and your little girl is adorable and I hope that you being a mother won't change your chracter too much.
Dear Lia, you and Luca better be in the process of getting/be married in this book. I mean when I see this: '"My heart has always been yours, Evangelia. You’ve ruled me, as a queen rules her servant. I live for God, for the House Forelli, and to be your man.” ~Luca Forelli, DELUGE'  on facebook what else should I think but OH MY GOODNESS! :D
This is not how I imagine him! Just in case you were wondering.

Dear Marcello please be as handsome and amazing as ever strong, compassionate and all-around swoon-worthy guy as usual, you being a Dad will be awesome. Oh and a sword fight or two wouldn't go amiss. :P

Dear Rodolfo I hope you'll forgive me for saying that you'll die. But it would make a TON of sense and I'd rather you'd die than Luca or Marcello. Just sayin'

Reading a book in bed after a long but very nice day. My pick last night was Brotherband: Slaves of Socorro finally we're getting some action but seriously, they will never be as good as Rangers.

Knitting a dish cloth in tiny little stitches and seeing that it turned out really nicely, if I do say so myself. :)

Planning sleep-overs and movie nights. So much fun! :D

Lending movies.

Planning on writing on blog post on the birthday party I went to in July. It was really fun! :)
This is Saxon as Walt Disney. :)

Anyway I'd better go. Chin chin!

August Movie Quote Quiz Edition

And here is the August edition.

Rules:
1. Don't look any of the quotes up on the internet, or any other "looking-up" device.
2. Submit your answers in a comment on this post. You may submit as many comments as you need to, depending on when you remember the different quotes.
3. You score one point for every correct answer you submit -that's telling me what movie the quote is from- and you can also earn an extra point by telling me who said the quote!
4. You MAY ask immediate family members (parents, siblings, pets, etc.) for help and you MAY watch a movie again to see if one of the quotes is in it (of course, that would probably be a waste of time, but whatever
5. You get a point for each person that you say is talking and also, what the movie is. For example: "For a second there, I actually thought you were gonna eat me." "I don't eat junk food." The movie is Ice Age and the characters talking are Sid and Diego. BUT if you said Sid talking to someone else, and the movie, you would only get two points.
6. Have fun! :D

1.
CHARACTER ONE: "(NAME), down. *Gently.*See? Nothing to be afraid of...Augh! (NAME)! What is *wrong* with you? Bad dragon! A-ha, he's uh, he's not usually like this... Oh no... CHARACTER ONE: "Indeed not. Quite ill-favored."

Now, technically speaking this isn't a movie. But a mini series. And that was a huge hint in case you were wondering.

Laurie or Fritz?

Now, just in case you are wondering this blog post is about the two characters penned by that lovely authoress: Louisa May Alcott.
I saw on a blog that I recently followed that she had done a blog post on Little Women (1994) and that she'd read the books but had always thought that Laurie and Jo should have ended up together.
And that got me thinking. In the past month or so I've been reading Little Men. I finished it last Sunday and am now trying to get into the mood to read and finish Jo's Boys. I love Louisa May Alcott's writing! She was so skilled!
Anyway, that blog post on the blog about Laurie should have married Jo just stuck with me. Until today when I decided to talk about it.

Now, as we all should know, Laurie is the next door neighbour in Little Women.
He originally meets Jo and then all the other sisters and becomes their closest friend and neighbour. Music is his passion and he loves to get up to any larks that take his fancy. Bear with me please, I've only read Little Women once, the same with all the other Little Women books, but that's what I remember. Anyway. I really liked him. In Good Wives he goes away to college and becomes a little bit immature with how he spends his money and the way he wastes his time. When he comes home he proposes to Jo. She refuses him. He goes off in a huff and to Europe where he wastes his time and money. Until Amy pops up. Then he feels like he might have a second chance. Long story short, he ends up marrying Amy and I believe that it was the right choice. The thing is I don't think that Laurie and Jo should have ended up together. I think I'll explain my thoughts much more eloquently if I simply copy and paste the proposal from the 1994 version of Little Women. Take note that it is actually Little Women and Good Wives in one movie:

Laurie: "I have loved you since the moment I clapped eyes on you. What could be more reasonable than to marry you? "
Jo:"We'd kill each other."
Laurie: "Nonsense!"
Jo:"Neither of us can keep our temper-..."
Laurie: "I can, unless provoked."
Jo "We're both stupidly stubborn, especially you. We'd only quarrel!"
Laurie: "I wouldn't!"
Jo "You can't even propose without quarreling."

So yeah you get the idea. They just sound like they wouldn't get along because they are so alike in character and both need a more calmer person to be their life' partners.
As we all know Jo goes to New York and there she meets Professor Friedrich Bhaer and things just clicked. He's a kind man, more mature than Laurie and you find out that he cares for his two young nephews Franz and Emil even though he is quite poor himself. He's more quiet than Laurie and more wise. He also encourages Jo in her writing and gives his honest opinion because she asked him.

In short I like Laurie better. But Friedrich seems the perfect match for Jo. Kind, loyal, and not easily provoked. And Laurie, well he seems the best match for Amy. Rich, finds pleasure in music and art and all that fashionable stuff, and under Amy's calm hand he settles into an admirable gentleman.
So there you are, here are my ponderings and I must say that I hope you understood what I was saying because it doesn't seem like I've outlined them that clearly!

God Bless
